  1. Heh! Sounds so complicated! In America you enlist to army. Here in Finland, army enlists you. Good luck!
  2. No, I haven't. I've used CMMODS couple of times, which has very good content but interface is pretty crappy. Which other sites people find good?
  3. It would be pretty nice to have some really good quality site for mods and scenarios. If you are not going to make any real profit directly from site, I think any fee to cover the cost is justified. Clearly there still should be some way to get whatever sized mod or scenario from the site for free or it would not grow to be THE site for CM mods and scenarios. If that whole thing ends up sucking, then markets will clear things out for customers convenience.
  4. Here you go: kerko-alt_music_sampler.mp3 Short sample from each composition, all mixed to one file. About 1 minute and 18 seconds, ~1 meg. 1st is menu, 2nd is loading screen and 3rd is end of battle. Should be hosted for few years.
  5. Short description: I made new music for the game because I found original music too loud when I listened to something else while playing. ..and wanted to have some music in case I don't. Music is properly mixed and mastered, and nicely packed in to a .brz-file. Although the file is about 30 megs, I think it might be worth a try. You can get it from CMMODS, just search for Kerko's Alternative Music. Long description copy & pasted from the readme: Replaces all three music files played in menu screen, while loading mission, and while viewing end of battle screen. Pieces loop seamlessly except 'music end of battle.wav' which is only played once. Music is dark, atmospheric and mixed to be soft enough to not to annoy you even if you like to listen to your own music while playing. They are all original recordings especially made for this game. Do what ever you want with them.
  6. I usually keep my at-team somewhere covered behind a building or something, and then use quick move to shooting position with narrow cover arc to area where the target is, pause 15 seconds, and then fast move back to cover. If you play real-time you can be bit more efficient because you probably do not need whole 15 seconds. I think it's for the best to switch positions because eliminating your at is quite high on the opponents things to do list and Javelin launch is easy to spot. It also gives you an opportunity to acquire fresh javelins from nearby vehicles. Yes, this post should be on tactics and this did not reply to original question.
  7. Yeah, I figured it out myself. Just for the record: music splash.wav and music intro.wav are looping. Music end of battle.wav is not, it only plays once.
  8. 'music end of battle.wav', which plays while viewing end of battle report doesn't seem to loop? Is this how it's supposed to be? I was working on some alternative music mod and it was hard work to make them loop seamlessly, but that one doesn't loop, lol!
  9. How about some simplified review function which would float unit icons on map editor -like view? All units visible and unit icon would flash if unit takes damage and maybe some simple lines drawn to target when unit fires? Wiped units would turn dark or something. That shouldn't produce ungodly amounts of data or shouldn't be performance hit. But I might be wrong here.
  10. I had problems with AA when I tried the game after the patch without touching any settings, but it works for me now. I have NVIDIA 6600gts, ForceWare version 163.44 and Windows XP I'm not sure what exactly helped but I set screen resolution to "desktop" (I'm using 1280x960 on desktop, I had 1024x768 in game), then I set antialiasing manually to "2x" from NVIDIA Control Panel. Restarted the game and AA worked.
  11. Good music and that hybrid theme suits there well, but it's annoying to hear that same piece again and again. Especially when you are listening to some other music while playing.
  12. I found that night missions are almost too dark to see anything if I play in normal ambient light. I have a calibrated CRT monitor. For me, night missions looks good with lights out. In daytime I'll just set higher gamma with NVIDIA Control Panel. I'm sure you can do something similar with your Radeon.
  13. Yes, simple time acceleration would be nice like in many other simulations which run in RT. 2x, 4x, 8x acceleration maybe. Of course it should not skip any calculations so you would not probably get much acceleration with low end computer.
  14. Some people, like me, don't really mind if a game looks a bit jerky if it still feels playable enough. And some people hate it when they have anything less than 60 fps. Just try the demo and see how it works for you.
