  1. Well, I am trying to play through the campaign, so i don't think I have the option to set the time. Fix please.
  2. It has been awhile since I posted- i recall there being pages and pages of tech support/customer complaint posts on this board. Perhaps my question was answered in one of those threads that have been wiped away as if they never existed. Anyway, the shadows in game seem to flicker quite a bit, and look out of sorts in general. does anyone have any ideas how one would fix this, besides disabling shadows altogether?
  3. yeah, i noticed this too. likely this was a big part of what they did too makes framerates better. one shoudl be able to adjsut this setting manually, imo
  4. ps- I'm at full AA and AF too, sao that may be why Im not getting 60 fps. One thing I have noticed is that the game now subs in much lower detail textures at a certain distance, and it is clearly visible with the naked eye. This is likely helping the frames, as it seemed like v 1.0 to 1.3 were trying to draw all the detail for the entire scene at best/best. Would it be possible to establish a view distance setting where one could adjust this manually?
  5. 1.04 is much improved for me. I am not getting anything near 60 fps like someone else stated, but then I am maxing everything out at 1920x1200 resolution with vsync on. The 25+ or so consistent on allah's will have to do (heh, now i can stop loading up that boring scenario ). Frankly i am just eyeballing it, no fraps, so it could be higher. It just feels a touch under 30. Future patches by nvidia can only help I imagine. In any case, it is definitely playable at high settings now, so thank you for the patch.
  6. 8800 is great on opengl. doom3,quake wars, even an older FPS called star trek elite force, all run like champs, beautiful and fast. xp home here
  7. Yeah, I run Opengl games just as well as direct x with my 8800. all games except CMSF that is.
  8. What is going to be far more damaging are reviews like those found in Gaming for Windows magazine, PC Gamer, and Gamespot. They were all approx. 5/10.
  9. I'm with you Hotti, up until the point where you tell me WIC is mesed up on my 8800. It most certainly is not. Actually, I'm not with you at all, as I am starting to build up a belief that, contrary to the CW, no one is really getting optimal performance, and it is not just confined to 8800 cards.
  10. Get a GTX 768 mb ram, my frames in that game, in multiplayer with about 9 other people, never go below 35, usually much higher. ok, maybe when a nuke goes off, but thats it. ps-I am running at 1920 widescreen. one more thing, are you running vista? that may be the problem, as I am in xp. And you may want to lower some effects rather than resolution.
  11. This is what I am wondering: If all 8800's have problems, but you need the power of an 8800 to run the game at max settings and high resolution, then isn't it a logical conclusion that no one is actually playing the game at max settings/high resolution? and I agree with the second statement, I think that is spot on, and why some people say they are not having a problem...rather, they have learned to live with it because they couldn't give a toss about graphics.
  12. my second system actually. it currently has either a 6800 or a 8800 gts, and I have vista but haven't put it on there yet. I just like to have a spare computer...though I agree with the comment about the 7300 having problems. I am really worried that all this 'some people aren't having problems' talk is just a red herring.
