    There are still a few vehicles to finish them all off. Meanwhile, I have started working on the interface, following master Juju's concepts, here you can see new "realistic" icons for the special equipment, all based on photographs of the real deal:
     
     


     
     
    The idea is to improve a bit the lifeless interface without causing too much commotion. Weapons silhouettes should come next.
    Changing the interface is a huge task, Juju's mad.

    When I design a QB map for a meeting engagement there's no room for "better deploy areas", because they must be as much respectful of both players as possible. Perfect balance is no achievable, because a symmetric terrain map would be unrealistic and boring, but at the same time it's not possible to ignore completely the issue of giving both players as equal chances as possible, in the end, it's a videogame.
     
    So, deploy areas can't be very large for the size/map fitting problems cited before, they can't be much different than an obvious shape because a meeting engagement is a meeting engagement (otherwise you design a scenario, which can depict even extreme situations), as a consequence an immediate strike artillery with a lot of arty is going to ruin the game for both players if both make such decision (and if no rule is applied they will both be forced to do it because it's a nash equilibrium).
     
    I have no problem playing with many people using this very simple rule, neither did them. So until now I enjoy multiplayer. I am sorry, but I would not play with you.

    From a map maker point of view:
    the problem with large deploy areas is that you have to take into consideration that units can be placed on the very border of the area, in order to get as close as possible to objectives and/or points of interest (especially in meeting engagements). Maps in CM games can be large but not that large to ignore few hundred meters of distance. Not only larger zones bring the travel time problematic, they also require the units to be not spottable in the very first turn by the enemy, so you need to take some special care for the deploy areas, otherwise there will be an unpleasant situation at the very start of the match (again, especially for meeting engagements).
     
    So, even a single rule such as no arty in the first minute in the deploy area is good practice.

    You can have interesting mixes, like fanatic conscripts. Don't give any hope they can operate heavy machinery, drive without crashing or hit anything at ten meters, but rest assured they will keep trying.

    Hello everybody!
     
    here comes a new adventure into modding CMBS.
     
    I will use this forum thread only for all my mods, discussions, previews and releases, in order to avoid clogging the forums.
     
    For now I can't to use CMMODS site because it does not support CMBS and I have no way to recover/reset my lost account; I don't want to use the official repository in its actual state; if you don't mind you'll find download links from a free upload site, at least for now.
     
    I will add posts like: PREVIEW XXX or RELEASE XXX, toghether with screenshots, descriptions and download links. Feel free to comment, suggest improvements, point out mistakes or problems. 
    I'll try to post a summary from time to time with a list of released mods and downloads.
     
    Now some words about my way of modding: as many others I mod for myself following my personal taste, therefore there's no claims about any mod if not that they follow my personal view and preferences. Generally speaking, I try to follow to some rules with all my mods such as: the use of more detailed textures, HD textures (2x or even 4x the original resolution size) when possible, more desaturated colors, use of photorealistic textures and decals. 
    My main interest has always been modular buildings and terrain modding, but I'll try to mod vehicles too.

    This is how the coverage works supposing a 120° radious for each sensor...
     

     
    It's Worth to note that the extreme sides of each sensor are covered by the nearby one, this means that if the capacity/sensibility of the sensor decreases from the most central (let's say 90° arc) area towards the sides, these are covered by two sensors instead of one, thus augmenting the chances of detection. If the power of the sensors is perfect for the entire 120° arc the coverage is then perfect at the precise position the sensors radiouses meet.
     
    The above picture seems a bit of an overkill, so I'll try drawing cover arcs at other degrees, maybe something between 90 and 120, but should be nice to see what's the 90° option coverage.

    -Still missing some Russian vehicles, mainly the MTLB + variants. Which should come next. Then a few other odds and ends and reworks of UA vehicles. Still need to mod all game's bridges (under way). Then rework the independent buildings (some, at least). Maybe make a dirty/used variant for the personal/heavy infantry weapons.
     
    -Master downloads: I tried with some options, but the master downloads would be very large files, and my upload speed is very slow, that would mean hours and hours of upload time and my connection is not that good, I often get error messages due to connection drops/hangouts/lag spikes, so at least for now I cannot provide master (collection) downloads.
