  1. Had he already been in combat? What I am saying, (this is by no means an insult to your intelligence) are you sure that Joe still had some ammo left for it? Sounds like he might have been out to me.
  2. Actually with or without your score of "3.0 Bad" well over 60% of the people find it a good game and 30% or more find it in the great to perfect catagory so somebody must like it. While I agree that it's not perfect and has some issues to work out it's certainly not a 3 out of 10. Chazman you seem to have nothing good to say here and your score of 5 in the graphics area just discredits anything you had to say in your pointless snub. Why don't you go back to playing whatever it was you were playing before TOW?
  3. Used in conjunction with mouse or any other control. However it's fully programable and has a "Center Wheel" like a mouse and buttons you can program so I suppose it's possible to program it to act like a mouse but I personally never saw the need nor do I believe it was designed to be a mouse replacement. 4. yeah, actually the game gets a little more forgiving after the first couple of missions, when playing the Germans. Once you get some Tigers your going to love it, however; early on your going to have to sacrafice some infantry to get those AT guns. What I did was move my infantry up close and then rushed them once they had a visual from a crawling/prone position. I also moved one of my light tanks into engage the AT gun from a different direction about the same time i thought my infantry would rush. It worked well and once I had control of more than two of their guns and some tanks left I took the map. Hang in there the frustration fades and once you get to the citadel battle you should understand how to play the game as it's meant to be played. The last three campaign missions I beat on my first attempt. Most taking on average about 40 minutes worth of game clock or about an hour and some change once you factor in the pauses. If the development team can get the AI & LOS issues worked out and add in most of the suggestions stated in this forum TOW has a classic written all over it. When I say the AI issues it's not that the AI is bad it's just that right now it has a mind of its own on your side causing you to micro-mannage more than you should so you don't end up with a clickfest so much as you end up with a pausefest. Great game and I hope they get the kinks worked out. Blaze
  5. I read someplace here that they are aware of the error and is on the "to fix" list already.
  6. flintlock, As asked before... What are you using for your graphics card and settings, drivers etc. Inquiring minds want to know? Are you getting playable frame rates with this much detail?
  7. While you're at it... The second time you used "I" in your sentence it should have been in caps and also the word dont that follows is a contraction and should have been spelled don't. Don't throw rocks if you live in a glass house. These are trivial mistakes; there are other areas of the game that need more attention than this.
  8. Here are a couple of questions for you more experienced players. I have heard people in this forum say that you can aim at specific parts of a tank, how do you do that? I understand flank and rear shots but how do you target a turret, hull, tread shot. Is it just luck where your gunner aims or can you really choose? Second, How does area fire work and when should it be applied? Lastly, Heat rounds, when I click on other shells it gives me penetration values for various ranges but I don't see that for the Heat rounds? How do I know when to employ them and at what ranges? TIA, Blaze
  9. +1 I was using the keypad on my keyboard for camera control and was having a tough time getting the view I wanted. Until I took the two minutes it took to program my N52 to handle this function of the game. Works with all kinds of games, I use mine in just about everything I play.
  10. Sort of funny as this game can begin to grow on you like a cancer. I finally beat that mission and when I did I had only lost 2 tanks. I've found that once you have an AT in sight so long as you pound it with as much firepower as you can muster it usually dies pretty quick; not as quick as it should in my opinion but WTH? I would think a relativly exposed gun crew would get wiped out rather quickly by 2 or more tanks inside of 1000 yards firing from a stationary position with all weapons. Supression of gun crews does not seem to be modeled too well IMO. Maybe even if you don't kill the crew right away you would think that HE rounds going of nearby and MG bullets from the tanks gunners would throw off their aim some, but I have seen on more than one occasion where a sole surviving crewman not only survives to fight another day but takes two tanks with him at range?
  11. I have been having a real hard time getting past the AT Guns of the USSR while playing Germany. If I try to shoot it out with them I usually lose at a rate of 3 to 1 or better. I can't send my infantry in to take them out because they are behind the Russian defensive lines and my infantry gets mauled by theirs. I am playing the fourth mission in the Campaign. I've survived maytimes until it's time to hold off the Russian counter attack but by then I have no Armor and the Captured AT guns don't have enough rounds to deal with those Nasty T-34's. Any ideas? Were AT guns this effective I'm getting my tanks torched at 1000+meters while they are on the move. Frustrating, Blaze
