  1. YES! Filing a ticket and receiving a download link to a re-packaged .rar file helped! Now the game is finally downloaded, installed and activated on my hard drive. Many thanks to the BF staff!
  2. Yeah, go ahead. Rub it in. (7 hours 47 minutes to go at 65 kb/s) I hope that Citrix's every CEO's wives get their periods this instant.
  3. 21 hours and 4,1G downloaded until crash. Again. Enough of this. edit: a ticket sent
  4. Finland, monday afternoon and the download speed doesn't exceed 65 kb/s as it didn't yesterday either (100 Mb/s connection). I was initially using Firefox but changing into IE isn't showing any improvement. I'll give this one more shot but if this download gets aborted again, I'll try again in a week.
  5. I've noticed that the troops are well hidden as long as they don't open fire. After that they draw everybody's attention and casualties start piling up. There is though an effective way of minimizing casualties for the defending side. Give every squad in a platoon a minimal covering arc and place them behind the bocage. Once the enemy is close (~50 meters) remove the arcs and let the squads open fire with everything they got for 10-15 seconds. Break contact, fall back ~20 meters from the bocage and re-issue the arcs. Your troops can't be spotted through the vegetation at that distance and the enemy will lose the LOS. Retake your positions and lose the arcs again if/when necessary. This way a platoon can cut down an advancing company within minutes with only slight casualties without mortars or artillery, required no enemy tanks are involved. Just finished playing through the german campaign and managed to frustrate every enemy counter-attack with these tactics. Lost 26 KIA, 32 WIA and 2 light vehicles. The best game EVER!
  6. Must you all download at the same time? I'm getting a meagre 40-50 kb/s and the timer shows the download to be ready after 7-9 hours. There are people on VACATION at the moment ready to waste... errr... commit themselves to ... err... Oh well, I might just leave the line open during the rest of the night. Prepairing for a hasty breakfast.
  7. You don't need all of your force to win this battle. Scouts, snipers, 2 platoons of infantry and 2 tanks is really all you need. And of course choppers and arty. The rest of your troops you can keep hidden as a reserve out of the troubles way. I you wish, I can send you a detailed AAR using RT and iron skill level. Casualties 3 dead, 11 wounded, one LAV. No cheating.
  8. There it was, a brand new hardcopy of "CMSF: Marines" lying underneath my mail slot as I opened the door. A happy day!
  9. A minor issue, but I noticed in the last mission in the USMC campaign that the enemy artillery shells were landing on their targets from behind my troops, as if their batteries were located in my rear area. And vice versa.
  10. Surprisingly, they DID stop and let the SS chew up the nationalist uprising in Warsaw 1944.
  11. Yes that we do know, but I was referring to the time the Russians got they marching orders to enter Georgia through the Roki tunnel. Was it before or after the Georgian artillery barrage on South Ossetia? Arranging a spontaneous nocturnal motor march into a neighbouring country during senior commands off-duty hours and reaching the outskirts of Tskhinvali on friday afternoon 8.8. 14 hours later seems like a remarkable feat. I just don't buy it, to be frank.
  12. Did you ask about it from the Russian troops you met in Gori?
