  1. Thanks for replying Sneaksie! As people have said before me Tellermines/close assault etc. are really needed as current methods of infantry tank attack (i.e. grenades/RPGs) arrive late, and were historically far from the only means at their disposal. This is going to be much more important when urban warfare is implemented. Especially for things like the Kursk missions, where the Ferdinands are vulnerable precisely because they have no mode of close defence.
  2. Sneaksie, In the future, will hand-placed mines and/or close infantry assault be modelled? Sorry for repeating myself but I would like to know whether this would be compatible. Last thing I promise
  3. Sneaksie, In the future, will hand-placed mines and/or cloase infantry assault be modelled?
  4. Sneaksie, Any chance of an answer? It's something I'd really like to know.
  5. Sneaksie, Is the problem of tanks squashing things that they do not touch going to be fixed? I ask because infantry should be able to place AT mines etc. actually onto tanks, and close assault them in other ways (eg. grenade down the barrel, shoot through pistol ports) but they cannot at the moment due to the fact that they get squashed 6 feet away. This does not happen with friendly units, presumably to stop them getting squashed, but to be honest I wouldn't mind enemy soldiers not getting squashed as long as they could place stuff on. I would be willing to pay a hell of a lot for a Theatre of War with all this stuff in! Top class customer support, if I may say so. I can't think of many other games where the devs actually answer questions put to them on a regular basis!
  6. I think before we put in all kinds of van/truck etc. the devs should probably put in the glaring errors, such as... NO FLAK 88!!! etc. etc. etc. zzzzz...
  7. I think the biggest problem with the air support is how it is implemented, esp. against tanks. IIRC at the moment the air support has a list of priority targets, with tanks being lowest priority, meaning that they hardly ever get targeted. If we could choose what type of enemy to target, with a greater variety of weaponry, this would be much more useful. Also, I'd like to make the fighter cover universal and non-player-controlled, as currently when the enemy's planes attack, and you call for fighter support, it always arrives too late.
  8. Well hopefully all of it (see dev blogs thread) but timeframe and actual improvements unclear as yet. Keep at it, it's a really rewarding game with lots of scope for improvement. It's getting quiet around this neck of the woods, and I'm worried this will cause the devs to give up patching it etc.
  9. Not hugely if they still have no unconventional way of attacking the tank, such as grenades down the barrel/shooting the optics etc., or get squished by the 'compression blast'. I mean, Germans who cannot use Teller mines? Soviets who cannot place HEAT grenades on tanks? Soldiers who cannot blow tracks off with grenades?
  10. SoaN, Is there any chance of an official full declaration of: *when these addons/whatever will be released, *how much they will cost, *exactly what will be in them? At the moment I'm trying to wade through Google-translated Russian and finding it, well, trying.
  11. I thought that this game had been played to extinction and was likely going to sadly slip under.... BUT then I read this! Enterable buildings? Smoke? Etc? Wow. My faith in TOW is restored!
  12. What I'd really like is some sort of Operation Sealion campaign-it would be so immense to have some sort of landing battles and mowing the invaders down! Or inclusion of landing stage battles for D-Day, with AVREs, DDs etc.
  13. Is the "Generic Mod Enabler" seen in the screenshot the same as the thing downloadable from the link at the top of the page? If so, I've already downloaded Oudy's Yanovo thing and I was wondering whether it would add it automatically, as well as others, from CMMODS?
  14. Just one more I promise! ·Greater variation in landscape. I'm even more sick to death of seeing, whether the battle is being fought on the Steppe, in the Bocage, Central Europe, the same old basic smattering of relief, trees and villages. I'd like more distinctive landscape features, and also more use of the landscape-for example, beach landing scenarios, river crossings etc. I can understand however that the devs would be limited in this by the engine's capabilities. PS the AT grenade I mentioned in my first post is not the RPG44 but the RPG6 (with a penetration of 100mm)
  15. Some more: ·Critically wounded soldiers not being able to move/fire, and dying after a certain length of time. ·Medics who stick to a particular group of soldiers, and automatically search out wounded soldiers to treat and stabilise. Therefore, when they reach a critically wounded soldier, they stop them dying. I think it would be best if they treat people and take cover automatically, tagging along with their squad, but with the player being able to make them treat specific targets. I just hope the devs read this thread! There's so many superb ideas coming through that would make a stupendous difference to the game. I particularly like the different levels of damage to the gun/optics-I'm sick to death of my tanks all being blinded by one tiny ricochet!
