  1. After being called a Troll for expressing my boredom at people knocking Vista (and therefore Vista 64) I decided to reinstall CM2 BTB to see if it works under Latest nvida drivers for 8800 , I have found that all I had to do in order to get it working was to set Antialiasing Mode --> 'Overide any application setting' and set Antialiasing to x2 Of course I set this in a unique profile for the CM.exe file so as to not impact other game settings Yes it is mildly jerky but playable which is all I want out of a game that if i am honest I haven't picked up for months I will revisit again if CMC comes out and current performance will be fine.
  2. How about your previous comment for starters, definition of a Troll "Someone not allowed to comment opposite to a comment you made?" I am getting bored with people knocking Vista 64 , most of which have never tried it , I have shelfs full of games and very few actually don't work on Vista 64. As I have said I have tried it and I wouldn't go back to WINXP
  3. Woh really bored of people having a ago at Vista , I use Vista 64 and would'nt go back to that limited O/S winxp if you paid me , goodbye inexplicable out of memory scrapes , good bye inexplicable crashes , hello endless 64bit world. If a game don't work on it, don't buy it, I won't , there is plenty of 32 bit directx9 games that work on Vista 64 + Nvidia 8800 GT and some play even better under Vista 64 , Gothic III or Age or Conan for example , they run as smooth as glass under Vista 64 , crashed like a good'un under WINxp
  4. This is nonsense, picking up guns to stop them running ahead ! , the problem is that at the beginning of a game or during the battle the officer will for no reason simply run out into the open , I have often ordered my infantry to advane to a cover line and once there stop them and hold position and then after a short while the officer will simply run out the cover into the open and charge a trench on his own , or if it is the beginning of a battle they simply up and run towards the enemy whist the squad remain , its a pure and simple AI issue that needs clarifying or resolving
  5. Rush for Berlin is a great game , of that genre it isn't realistic in content but you end up doing realistic things to solve problems , e.g. I was stuck as russians, couldn't get past this german long range arty that was killing me when a moved near any enemy units (they act as observers for arty) So I thought I know I'll charge 7 T34's through front line into rear, they will all get killed by one should destroy arty , what a disaster as soon as T34's got behind german lines with no support, they slowed to a halt, panicked and tried to turn and withdraw, shot to pieces The Graphics are stunning and I love that movie style link between each mission, it has RPG features and interesting things like leader special skills which while fantastical are great fun, oh and you can capture and control a MAUS as russians, brilliant! (but only if you use that noodle again )
  6. Demo's are a bit of a double edge sword, they can make a game or kill it and to that end I thought we could have a bit of fun and list the 5 demos that made us buy a game and the 5 that killed a game for us! My five great demos are:(that spring to mind) 1....Test Drive unlimited (XBOX 360) 2....Rush for Berlin 3....Combat Mission 4....Imperial Glory 5....Battlefield 1942 My 5 demo stinkers are: 1....Codename Panzers 2 2....Squad Assault (Poo! hold your nose) 3....Ninety Nine nights (XBOX 360) 4....Blazing Angels (XBOX 360 ) 5....T72 Balkans of fire (oops sorry but it sucks)
