  1. If you preorder, you will be able to download the game (according to Moon) "a LITTLE" early. Not sure if that means 1 day or 5 days, but you will be ahead of the curve of the people who don't preorder. Plus you get the DVD version of the game for basically free. You pay USD45 + shipping for the download and DVD version.
  2. That's all well and good, but what happens if you can't log on to d/l during your time slot? Out of town, or working, whatever. Maybe your connection is down. I, for one, work 24 hour shifts every 3rd day. Maybe if you let the first group in 5 days early, and they're free to d/l anytime after that... and so on.
  3. no worries steve! welcome aboard!!
  4. Hmmmmph. Not to be an ass or anything, but this thread was literally on the front page of the forum you posted your question in. http://www.battlefront.com/discuss/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=63;t=000515
  5. Woot, congratulations! Looking forward to getting my hands on this game. I didn't know Moon was president of BF... that's awesom!
  6. Even if it's not updated up to todays eye candy, graphics in a wargame to me are just icing on the cake. As long as a tank looks like a tank, and troops look like troops, I'm good with it. I'm more after the realistic angles and penetration values, etc. From the screenies I've seen this game looks just fine with the graphics engine.
  7. It's been posted that the demo will be released near simultaneously with the full version. Not a big fan of this idea, but I guess they are using the last few weeks to continually polish the game, and the demo.
  8. Hey, moon has 2 posts in this thread, consisting of 3 words total (excluding his signature/name). The 3 word collection consists of 1 word, used 1x in the first post and 2x in the second post. Wonder if THAT has ever been done before? !?
  9. Correct me if I'm wrong, but dual core processors should be far and away above the min specs for this game. A 2.33duo is not the same as a P42.33 Ghz.. Right?
  10. I saw them too, using Firefox. That was yesterday morn though.
  11. This was one of my complaints about CM. You could drag select units and give them a 'move' command, but who knew when they would arrive at their destination? Some units had a longer delay; some would cross different terrain; the effect was you'd have a platoon HQ arrive a good 2 turns before their platoons!
  12. Well if we are NOT supposed to believe the ship date is in April, I would hope a mod/dev would show up here by now and correct us. Not very nice of them to let us continue on our path of flawed thinking, if that's what it is.
  13. As this game will be for sale via download, I suspect the european release will be at the same time as USA.
  14. I'm offended...didn't Moon say they would "tell us HERE first", and 'here' being the forums? For SHAME, Moon, for SHAME!!!!!
  15. Sure, sure, if you want to be nitpicky. You get my meaning!
  16. I *think* I remember reading this question a couple months ago. The response I remember was, the chances of a crashing plane actually HITTING a ground unit are astronomical. So, I don't think planes that are shot down will ever damage ground units. I would stand corrected, though, if a dev/tester can answer with certainty.
  17. The junk I get from device manager about this PCI device is: PCI\\VEN_8086&DEV_284B&SUBSYS_A0021458&REV_02 Anyone know what it is? Google was no help.
  18. They said we'd have a firm release date by the end of this month. Now, to be generous, I'm giving them the first week of March too. So I hope to hear something "official" within 2 weeks.
  19. Also, when I reboot my system, I get windows XP doing a 'found new PCI device' in my sistem. The only cards installed in my box are the GPU and sound card...both of which already show up in the device manager. When I try to 'install automatically', it doesn't find any drivers and fails to install this mystery device. Any idea how to find out what it's finding?
  20. OK guys I've put together the new system and am having a couple issues. I went with the gigabyte ga-965p-s3 board, so please keep that in mind. 1) My CD-RW drive doesn't show up anymore in windows XP. It initially DID show up, and I began installing drivers with it, then after a reboot it just isn't there. At all. Not in device manager, not in 'my computer' screen..nada. However, I switched my DVD over to slave and it shows up fine. 2) Can't figure out how to have a HD, CD-RW, and DVD all on one ribbon. There's only 1 IDE port that I see...and the FDD for the Zip drive, right? Also, my zip drive doesn't show up...hmmmmmm... any ideas? 3) I get a pop up on every fresh boot up that "gigabyte VGA bios not found!". Not sure why it would look for/need a VGA anything, as it's a PCI-E card. 4) How do I reactivate windows xp without the CoA? Can't find that damn thing anywhere. Thanks for all your help, look forward to hearing how I goofed.
  21. True, columbus, E6400s get really hot if overclocked. I've got a slot fan in my system currently, and will transfer it over to the new box if temps get high. Not planning on doing any OC at this point, so should be pretty stable.
  22. I found this part quite interesting, and refreshing! And all the pics looked fantastic!
  23. OK guys, one last question. I want to install a 2nd internal HD for storage (actually, my wife has a ton of stuff on our HD right now, the 2nd drive would be for games and such). Is there any problems with this? I mean, I will still boot from the C drive, but if I install a 2nd HD, will I just be able to use it as a storage area? Install programs there, etc? I know the jumpers will probably have to be set differently or something, I've never had multi HD systems before.. Thanks again for all the help.
  24. OK guys, couple more questions. After doing all this research, I've decided I need a new case to hold everything. It doesn't need to be anything too fancy, but functional. I also need to decide on a mobo, and I'm not sure how much of an issue it is, but I need to be able to have USB2.0 inputs on the front of my case (and obviously a mobo that will allow it). The way the home PC is setup, getting to the back of it is a real pain, and it's not easy getting to the USB ports on the side of my current box. So, I need some in the front. I've pretty much decided to go with the Intel E6400 processor, so can anyone recommend a mobo/case that would go well with it? Thanks again!
