  1. can the UK place units in Egypt (if the island is intact), and/or operate there? or do allies only have ability to get units there by ship?? playing scwaw
  2. Sitzkrieg might work........spread peace not war, only thing i could think of is attacking fewer minors, or hope the allies take out more minors
  3. no, i think the city aa only defends against bomber attacks on the city i thought maybe it would affect tac bombers too but guess not still good for entrenched russian as bombers may be used to break entrenchments
  4. cool, that's what i thought now with waw the italians start with bomber, and looks like the enemy luftwaffe has one in my current email game a nice combo of AA city plus mobile AA would be good does the antiair upgrade help the mobile units or just city AA?
  5. does the city AA upgrade do any damage to bombers and/or tac bombers when they attack a unit in a city eg is it a useful upgrade for russia?

  7. yep,didn't think that made alot of sense. then he just came through belguim with half his units.........maybe trying to decoy but heavy price took out the swiss armies without much fight though, thought they'd be tougher

My latest email game of waw found Italy come in early for my axis opponent because i didn't know about the Cairo script (allied unit must be in Cairo to prevent early Iti activation) Anyway, he is coming through Switzerland to get at France, before taking the low countries, which seems kinda wierd. has anyone done this as axis with success, or are there any long term negative aspects to this for axis........seemed like a good activation hit for the allies usually i leave Swiss Miss alone the whole game as axis ps man these minor country forces are weak.......seem weaker than sc2
  9. good, that helps at least can get the sub reinforced then if necessary wonder how close is actually necessary to get to the 'ports' in order to anger other countries........guess i could just try it against the computer
  10. i thought there were more specific scripted numbers like going within 6 hexes of Lisbon or whatever portugals port is otherwise do people just leave us navy out of action til activated and do the russian sub and cruiser just sit in port in order to avoid annoying finland sweden and norway?
  11. thinking more of the event scripts in standard game (eg axis dow minor increases russian readiness by x %) just looking for major changes and where to find them
  12. are the scripts for waw the same as sc2? did not see any updates on the pdf that came with waw??
  13. is there any standard as far as how close naval vessels can get to minors ports before triggering scripts eg usa and iceland or spain, ussr and finland, sweden, norway seems like you have to keep em home until you are active otherwise any movement would anger minors
  14. Thanks Terif, that's exactly what i thought There is a misprint in the pdf file that came with my waw said they all have range of 5........didn't make any sense
  15. Anyone know the proper range for these new weapons on the waw combat target values chart it says the strike range (SR) is 5 for all of them but it sounds like those of you who have used them say that is not the case eg. can an AT gun shoot at a tank 5 hexes away??
  16. looks like all these units have a strike range listed as 5. does that mean they can hit targets 5 hexes away?? doesn't seem right for AT
  17. i was wondering more for France defending against initial German invasion/taking Paris, hiding one behind Paris. on the other hand seems like it would be pretty vulnerable.........or maybe an AT unit to surprise the Germans
  18. cool, thanks that helps alot.....it's about what i expected without reading the pdf yet anyone ever trying to use AA or AT units for the defense of France?? figured wouldn't work to good with German air superiority but not sure..........just starting first email game (and first game ever of waw)
  19. how do the new AA and AT and ARt pieces work.....eg are they passive with a area of defense or do you actually have to move them up and attack. from posts sounds like the at unit is a suicide squad for tank battles but i'm not sure how the aa and arty units would work
  20. with Malta i have seen the strategy to place a bomber there for ship killer/spotter in sc2 'vanilla' BUT just wondered with the new unit types would it be easier to kill now despite the fortification cause i don't want to send him down there just to get mauled b)why cant the corp op move off malta? seemed to have to transport then op from the mainland in my latest AI game c)do most peops leave a corps as it may be for defensible vs axis attacks to take malta? d)wouldnt waiting til later in the game to take malta be difficult as you need alot of air and they will be needed to kill Stalin
  21. is it still a good strategy to place a bomber on malta as the allies...........sounds like it may be too easy to kill with the new weaps
  22. wow, that would definitely make sense in our situation since i had a 'well blooded' Rommel against a semi - experienced Russian leader
  23. thanks for the clarification my opponent had mentioned this idea of germans being so much stronger than russians but it must have been the increased experience along with an increased experienced HQ on the German side of things

Just wondering played a game where i was German and had tank battle with russia. we both had lvl 2 tanks and, after we discussed it, similiar experience with said tanks but my tanks outkilled his like 4to1. both had leadership support and similiar terrain also when he had lvl 2 to my lvl 1 my opponent attacked one of my tanks, which had poor morale and supply, with one of his healthy tanks on clear terrain and he lost more strength points than i did just wondered if there is a fudge factor making some countries more potent attackers if all else is equal
