  1. Hi, I am enjoying CMSF thoroughly and looking eagerly forward to the release of the british module. (Thanks for the demo!) I would like to propose an ingame browser for the scenario repository. Alternativly a web interface to install a file from the repository with a single click would also do the job for me. Regards a lazy person
  2. I enjoyed TOW 1 quite a lot and was a little disappointed with the TOW2 demo performance on my Vista 32, 2 GB Ram, Nvidia 88 GT box. Today i decided to buy and try the patch. After some tinkering with the settings I found an acceptable solution for my system. I put the models detail on low and set the nvidia driver filter settings on high performance. That way I am able to check high detail for sky and landscape, achieving a pleasing graphics quality with a 2x antialiasing and 4x anisotrop setting. Most importantly I turn off the shadowing. I would really like to see the shadow performance optimized in a future patch. This one I am missing most. Anyway I am enjoying TOW in this incarnation already and looking forward to some fun in the sun. Regards Motomouse
  3. I am impressed. Improvements all over. I love your attidude to developing the simulation even further. You have got the right things right. I am getting sucked into the action and there is this "only one more mission" need. I am especially enjoying to replay the old missions as well. Unfortunatly my (expensive creative gigaworks, only 4 years old) subwoofer just blasted a few days before the Marine Module was released, unrepearable, condensors fried. Today my replacement system finally arrived (cheaper, meaner, longer guarantee (12 years), local factory). Only telling this, because I got blown away by the sound quality of CMSF, even compared to other software with very good sound implementations. Especially liking the engine sounds. Thanks for caring about the details and your commitment to making the software better. Looking forward to the next modules and other theater releases. Keep up your good work! Motomouse
  4. I just watched a zoomed in heavy tank withstanding intense fire for quite a while, until it finally cracked up. Thats a damage model! One literally saw, how the incoming shells tore up the tank piecemeal, tracks and parts of armour skirts splattering around, gun braking down, hull taking ultimate damage. No doubt, I want a replay feature now! Your own fault
  5. Played several missions, no more freezes yet. (See my post above, if you want to) @GIJas NVIDIA 7800 GS AGP Driver 93.71 Control Panel 1.2.0.82
  6. I really like the game. There are still some rough edges, but after playing a few campaign missions i really appreciate for starters the following: * atmospheric graphics * the lay of the land can be put to your advantage * interesting tank tactics possible and necessary * data presented in detail, for example: * detailed ammo and personel considerations necessary * rate of fire and reloading time modelled * pauseable realtime gameplay * friendly unit ai capable to get into shooting position again after ememy moves out of line of fire * interesting missions with some twists After a few battles I realised that its really important to preserve your forces (mentioned in the manual). I restarted on the easy setting and take care selecting my forces in advance, while trying to use them in an coherent and effective way. Great fun, keep up the good work! 7. When you are attacking and the target moves into cover your tanks try to get into a valid shooting position again. I actually like it that way. First I also put all my tanks on hold position, but then i wondered why they stopped shooting after a short while
  8. I turned off music, eax, self shadowing, turned down water detail and gras. I also changed my nvidia driver settings (anti alias, sync, tripple buffer, threaded off, errors on). No more freezes yet. Game still looks good. I will continue with these settings and will after a few more campaign missions turn the settings up step by step. 9. got two freezes yet (reboot necessary). short soundloop. will turn off eax and experiment with other options. I like the game and i am looking forward to a patch. [ April 21, 2007, 04:03 PM: Message edited by: Motomouse ]
  10. first download with download express stopped at 99%. I checked and one of the 15 download threads was aborted. I tried to continue the download, but dumb me hit restart in the context menu. Me thinks right procedure would have been to pause and unpause with the pause button. But anyway after the second 2 Gig download at 340 kbs everything went ok.
