  1. PS. Not even the option menu outside of the game will start unless I have XP compablity mode
  2. It's the full game, bought and downloaded from battlefront. I got one small battle done, but then it started to lag again. I have a AMD quad core, 8 gig ram, 1.5tb harddisc, with Geforce GXT 560 TI I have no secrity software outside that of what comes with Win 7, no norton ect. I have turnd of AUC, so that should not be a problem.
  3. First the game won't start untill I use XP compabilty mode, then the game uses 3-5 minutes before it starts, the menu lags, and when I finnaly get into the game, it lags to. beeing unplayable. Even after I go out of the game, my computer becomes slow for sevral minutes, with my web browser beeing slow ect. I have no idea why, my computer is far above the requierd system.
  4. I tried the demo and it worked fine, so I bought the main game and the 3 xp packs budle thing, after it was all installed I tried to start the game, and noting happens, just nothing
  5. Well the problem was that I was moving between houses, to flank a Pak, and the hourses are only some 10 meters apart, but it was a small line of sight from my soldiers to the pak, and they stopped to fire at it from the front, which is useless, and the pak spent some 10-15 seconds doing nothing before fireing and blowing away half the squad, had the squad just been moving, the pak would never had time to get of any shot, and they would have been safe.
  6. So this is a partucular problem in urban combat, but also when you move between gaps in hedgerows. I send my infantry on a flanking manouvre, but if they see any enemies they stop and shoot at them even if they are in the open, I just want them to RUN DAMN IT, it's particularoy dangures when they stop and shoot at AT guns, or 88s, if they moved they would get out of it alive, but it just seems stupid to stop in the open and decide to have a fire fight with an 88. Is there a command they makes infantry MOVE with out fireing at first sight of the enemy? it would save alot of lives for my Americans.
  7. I took some pics of 14 inch guns hitting the germans, I opened the battle with one volley of them, then later I used my forward oberserver, to fire them again, this is what it looked like.
  8. I've been playing mostly small scale quick battles, on small maps, I play americans and I usualy get about either 1 company or one and a half company depending on how much artillery I get. This last game I did not buy any artillery, relying on my standard mortars. I did notise that the germans even in inf vs inf battles favore ALOT of AT guns and seem to be sacreficing manpower for it. Now the defenders have lett points but still I think if they didn't buy 8-10 AT guns they might have been able to have more infantry, I notise I often have twice the number of soldiers as the germans, but they have lots of AT guns, now at guns are great in open maps, but in small maps with lots of hedges and stuff, they aren't that good. and easy to take out with mortars. So my question is, did the germans really favore having lots of AT guns?
  9. You allready have naval artillery in the game, cruisers, destroyers and 12 and 14 inch battleship guns
  10. I never played the old games, so I don't know if there was ever a pacific mod for it. But with this game simulating infantry combat so well, I think this game would be great for a pacific mod or expantion, sadly I have no mod skills.
  11. Made a short review on my wargaming blog http://apartmentofwar.blogspot.com/2011/05/review-of-combat-mission-battle-for.html
  12. I'm playing around with the quick battle thing, but I'm getting my ass kicked, I've tried to give my self air suport, but I can never use it, always say unavalable, I can use mortars and off map arty, but never air.
  13. I've never played the older combat missions nor the ones with the modern stuff. So this is my first venture into this series. First the game playes alot better on turned based, I have only played the torurial so far becasue it's really very good mission, I did not get the hang of MG and mortar in real time, but started to get a feel for it in turn based. I finnaly started to get a feel for the whole thing, I spent 20 minutes routing the crauts out of the hedges on the right flanks, fire and manovre with 3 rifle squads and an MG, On the left flank by the farm, I used up all my mortar ammo to just take out the craut mg, and layed supressing fire with the second mg. In the end by the cross road, I got the germans in crossfire and flank fire and massacard about 20 of them by thr AT gun, it was a victroy but a costly one, 44 dead 23 wounded 4 tanks out of action. I'm gonna give it another try tomorrow I want to get less then 20 killed. Or the brass is gonna have my head. Can't go around killing of 50% of my company routing out some POWs and second line troops.
  14. The demo is now out, I'm sure you could find it, It's very good
