Looking fore a game SC WWII G.C. v. 1.04.
Prefer to play as Axis.
Manage 1+ turn a day. More in the weekends. European time.
Anyone?
-
Im in.
No better than spending time with WW2. And yes, let us spend some time with practicing before a tournament. The amount of possibilities this game gives is blowing my mind.
-
Thank you fore the answer. It do look awesome, the patience one has to have before the release is painful...
But what im looking fore is a detailed picture, where one can see a detailed setup fore the 39 campaign. Each unit identifable.
-
Any screenshots of the new global map for Assault on Democracy?
Just curious how it compares to the other maps.
I second this. A screenshot where one closely could study details etc. If possible even included the initial setup fore the campaign, the order of battle.

If I remember correctly there is a script that controls an invasion of Norway. Is Norway controlled by the Allies?
Robert
Oslo (Capital) and Narvik is on allied hands. Bergen conquered (Soviet).

A great campaign, fun to play. But i need some help to understanding it.
After a while, after the Soviet has conquered most of mainland Europe, the bulk of Soviet tanks has moved to north Russia/Soviet, just by Murmansk.
Why, is it fore preparing a amphibious assault ore a move somewhere? Ore is it a fault?
There is also a Russian tank moved between Murmans and Narvik. Is there a "reason"? Why, is it fore "defending"? Ore?

Same thing happened to me. I positioned a carrier in Japan, in order to get support fore a attacking aircraft on a invading Soviet unit. No intercept/help against Soviet aircraft.
Still getting issue with Carriers not intercepting, this time with US carriers. The following applies:
- I have set them to CAP mode
- The weather is good
- They are in range of the target my aircraft are attacking.(I assume they don't have to be able to reach where the enemy aircraft are based?)
But they just sit there doing nothing! (mean while the enemy chew up my attacking aircraft!)
Help!

I am in to. It would be great!

I can if you like. A turn each day, perhaps 2-3 each day in weekends european time (sat - sun). johgjen@hotmail.com. I prefer to be the axis.
Ok?

51, and its terrible...
-
The WW2 campaign isnt included now?
-
The online activation didnt work.
The manual worked.
Now im soon heading fore the trenches.
-
Im goin to Denmark - Copenhagen next thursday. It probably will be out then. So instead of enjoing a fine holiday, im going to think of all the blodshed that i will be missing...
-
I understand that the focus of this game is WW1. As i understand there will be a editor who also will cover the WW2 period.
Question: Will there be a Fall Weis campaign, like in Sc2WaW included?
-
Im thinking of buying Imac. Is Sc games compatible with Apple - Imac computers? Do one need a other program in order to get the game running?
-
My tactics is to, after a friendly persuation with the Danes to accept a union with Germany, put the paratropers in Copenhagen and a bomber next.
Declar war with Norway, hit Oslo two times with the bomber (one usually loses a point ore two) and drop the paratropers next to Oslo.
The paratroper usually takes out the 3 point norwegian unit. Then move a corps, wich you previously have plased next to Kiel beside Oslo. The paratroper returns by sea to Kiel later, and the corps occupies Oslo.
This works with the new patch 1.1.
-
And so have i also bought... Im looking forward to conquer the world..
-
Will the 3D units be the same as in PDE/WAW? Ore would there be new graphics?
-
It seems that the map of GC is the same in size as the map of the global campaign supplied with the latest patch fore SC2.
The range of the units in that campaign - SC "World" where shorter than in WaW aand PDE.
Is the range of the units in GC shorter than in WAW and PDE?
-
I agree that the point of SCWWII is to be a great game. It seems that the GC would be the greatest game there is...
But any kind of activity represents some kind of ethics, etc. Sir, you show some lack of thought when it comes to your comment of "unnecessary distraction".
Anything that has something to do with WW2 should be judged against ethical and human standards.
And i dont like fascist/nazi symbols wether is displayed in a game, in music, litterature, etc.
I have stated my mind, others have theirs - some have taken the point quite good / and better than me.
I have said mine now, end of discussion.
No, this whole thread is an unnecessary distraction. Of all the things to talk about regarding this new release, bringing up a potentially inflammatory discussion about (editable) bitmap graphic symbols and whether WWII wargames are allowed to be historically accurate or not is totally missing the point of Strategic Command WWII Global Conflict. -

This posting is to the point. Lets go fore the game mechanics, the game itself. I would like to play the greatest WW2 game that is. I would not be a part of a roleplaying where the aim is NSDAP ore Nazi Germany.
What kind of elements would we like to have in a game? Labour camps? No, lets go fore a game where the elements are pure strategy. Fore the other bit, lets go fore a patch, so that everyone could have their cup of tea.
I would prefer acurate game mechanics.Honestly, when i was younger i wanted those symbols as well.
But than i thought about it a bit and finaly changed my mind.
I play the Axis side, but not the Nazi side.
I want to win with the Axis power, but not with or for the evil idology of the Nazis.
I don't want to use a game where i take up those symbols which stand for the Holocaust. I can live and play with the symbols of the german army, but not with the symbols of the NSDAP.
I play to fight a war, not to fulfill the disgusting aims of the Hitlers party.
Of course, Hitler enforced his Nazi symbols to the Wehrmacht, but nevertheless i would always prefer the Balkenkreuz, which was used before and after Hitler.
Where shall acuracy start, and where shall it end?
And do you want a game about WW2, or do you want to play a game, in which you try to let the nazis win?
Without Nazi symbols you can play and enjoy the game, without having to think about why exactly you know out of the blue are trying to help the most evil ideas the world has ever known toward victory.
We don't need swastikas in the game, what good would they bring which we can't achieve with the Balkencross (iron cross)?
Finaly: I play gamed like SC / SC2 not because of the fancy graphics -and i doubt anyone does- but because of the game mechanics.
So why this fanatical swastika fetish?
-
I like swiss guy`s suggestion, see his posting.
Let me make it clear: The Sc games are the greatest. I really look forward to GC.
-
If you play PDE "plain vanilla", and look at the screen between turns, one will se the swastika on the screen, while the computer process the Axis turn.
I would prefer a computer game without symbols that clearly could be described as nazi etc.
