  1. Forgive me, I am at work, and do not have access to specific scenario names, etc. However, I am playing the "Road to" scenario, and am on the second mission (this all I have been able to play so far, so my experience is extremely limited). There is a stream between the U.S. forces and the Jerrys on the objectives. A bridge lies between. Here is where the problem begins. My engineers blew the obstacle, and proceeded to cross the bridge. They stopped and milled about in the center. Not healthy by the way. In any event, after that any movement command passed the far end of the bridge resulted in a waypoint that appeared underneath or to the side of the bridge. Confused by this I accepted the command, and the engineers (those that were left) promptly ran across the bridge and down the bank to the middle of the stream. Satisfied that they were at least out of the line of fire I repeated the task with an infantry squad under the cover of a smoke screen. Once again, every attempt to select a waypoint beyond the bridge resulted in a spot under the bridge or to one side. Once the turn began the platoon promptly ran under the bridge. Now for the next wrinkle. I can no longer select either formation. See them - yes. Command them - no. As the form of the battle was now lost I decided to experiment. I sent a tank across the bridge. I selected a waypoint, as before, beyond the bridge. The area where the waypoint actually appeared was the center of the bridge. I watched in interest as the tank approached. Suddenly it dropped beneath the bridge, and moments later popped back up. The next turn I once again selected a point beyond the bridge, again the waypoint appeared beneath the bridge. The tank commenced its move, dropping and popping back up a couple of times on its way. At the end of the turn it had managed to get to the bottom of the stream bed, where it too now sits un-selectable. Up until this event the game has preformed wonderfully. Any ideas??? MCB
  2. FMB, Greetings. The following position is academic in nature, and therefore totally irrelevant. Having said that - I am a retired paratrooper of 21 years service. If I haven't heard it - it has not been said (profanity wise). However, when we consider the cultural identities and zeitgeist of the generation of the soldiers portrayed, I would suggest we at least consider that profanity (even in the uniformed services) was not as common place or pervasive as Hollywood would have us believe. Make no mistake, they cursed in the 40s, but it was not as lasse faire as we find today. I have read a couple of Revolutionary War letters that were sprinkled with language that might surprise, but it was frowned upon then as well. Having said that, it doesn't detract from the excellent work you have produced. Just thinking out loud. MCB
  3. Ty, dear boy. Know your work was a labor of love, but if BF does not throw you a bone for the revenue you have generated then I'll eat my hat, Sir!
  4. Have played for a couple of years with family and a local club. Any excuse to break out the old field gear and act about 20 years younger. Have three rifles (MP5, AKS, M4) each about $150 USD. Even the wife and daughter go out from time to time - my kids mom DID wear combat boots back in the day. She looks great in face paint too!
  5. Tryspawn, Just a note to say thanks for your efforts, and to credit you with my pre-order. Was going to wait until release, and spend a tad less; however, due to your excellent work I could contain myself no longer. Wanted to publically credit you so that the powers that be will privately recognize and reward your efforts (as I am sure I am not the only one influenced by your work), and to further encourage their attention and response to the desires of their customer base. Well done. MCB
  6. Where to begin??? I'll settle on the large naval guns, just because of the mind boggeling destruction they must yield when on target.
  7. I've lurked, I've commented, and faded away.
  8. Feel like a kid on Christmas Eve! Bring it on!
  9. SG1, OMG, if it proves to be that simple I'll flog myself with a Cat'O'Nine tails. I walked away from this game in utter frustration over a year ago because of this scenario. Can't wait to get home and test this theory. Many thanks. MCB
  10. Okay fellas, I gave up on this sim a couple of years ago, but am willing to try again. The good man "Flatline" had an issue that I also had/have. No one really answered the crux of his question two years ago, but I'm willing to try my luck again. The issue I had was very similar. I could not progress past the Dunkirk mission. The last French tank beyond the town just could not be destroyed. In one of the last missions I tried I destroyed everything on the map but that one last tank (which was immobilized and physically beat to **ll and back). However, it still showed it was occupied. So...I pulled up two tanks on its flank and rear, and shot every round they had at point blank range - nothing. Then I laborously rolled up an AT gun to about 30 meters away, and fired every round in the gun into the tank - nothing. I even tried using grenades from Infantry to see what would happen. Same results - nothing. I could stroll all over the map, but that one last tank refuses to die no matter what I do - no matter how I play the scenario. Any hints from the Grand Masters? YOS, MCB
  11. I should think they (BF) should at least have the respect for the game and the customers to remove the topic from the forum. Who wants to stare abject failure in the face day in and day out? Too painful...
