I bought it from Battlefront and it is patched to 1.12 also. I did not ran it as administrator (will try it), because I installed the game in another Program Files directory to bypass some of UAC problems. It is Win 7 Home 64-bit pre-installed (do not know which version).

Hi, I just installed CMBO on my new PC with Windows Seven. Thanks to this forum I solved the bug with yellow/white text on Radeon cards. However the game does not detect cd-rom after installation !? Is there a workaround to this problem? Thierry B.

Hi, I think an alternate solution is to install all non Seven (and Vista?) programs outside 'Program Files', but in [drive letter]:\Programs This is what I did for all non Seven programs, bypassing UAC control on Program Files

Hi, I disagree with that. We are not talking about "shoot them up" games, but computer wargames. I like beautiful maps and graphics , but frankly if I think Clash of Steel is better that SC, I will play COS. I will not play SC only because it is a Windows game. About running "archaic" games on XP, you did not tried Dosbox. I can run so many dos games and wargames so much easier with this than it was in pure DOS that I am completly stunned about it. I run COS as easily as a Windows game, and excepting graphics not up to date with SC, I see no reason to stop playing it. TB
