Of course I don't know, but I've always thought the people you see on the logo are there because they are well known and popular! They are liked and or hated by many, so you know right away what this game is all about when you see them. Hence all the books published in the last few years with the name Patton in the title when the book itself has little if anything to do with him.

I've never played anything but the AI, and it beats me at times - like the draw I just got playing Blashy's mod!! I'm considering this but have a question: How do you pick what side to play? And are we talking e-mail games or real time, or does that even matter? Sorry to be such a noob!!

SeaMonkey - I took a shot at you but I missed! Seriously - don't sweat it. Everyone has their opinion, but they don't mean a thing until we actually see and play WaW. The Beta testers have a huge leg up on us, otherwise it's all just stuff and nonsense until we see and try out the finished product. May it be soon!!!!!!!

It all sounds good to me! I can see that with the addition of these new units and the improved AI this is going to be a new game. BRING IT ON!!! The current AI gives me a huge challenge, I'm looking forward to being soundly thrashed by the new one!!

I too am concerned with the arty and AT units, as I didn't like PG and LOVE SC and SC2. But, I have faith in Hubert so I'm gonna wait and see, and know I'll be buying as soon as its available.

I know he said he loved it, but he was also aware of the destruction, death and pain it caused, and wrestled with it. Like all Military professionals he loved what he did - why else would you make it your profession? Yet he hated the pain and suffering it caused. All of us fallen humans are strange!

I think that old Bobbie Lee has been highly over rated. Great yes, but not as great as his supporter like to claim. Anyone remember Pickett's Charge?? Actually Patton wasn't careless about his men's lives, but he believed that constant offense and movement saved lives in the long run and practiced that principle consistently. He wasn't perfect either, but I think that history is being kinder to him that it is to Ike, Monty and Bradley.

Well as long as we're indulging ourselves... 1) USMC in the pacific - along side my father who really did fight there! 2) With Patton (& Rambo!) 3) Several others that I can't seem to think of right now!! (Getting old! )

Terif, Wow - you are the man! I'd be interested in seeing how you managed to destroy so many German units. I usually do well defending fairly well forward, but can't seem to get a good enough exchange rate to go on the offensive. In other words when I'm the Russian player, I run out of units due to combat losses! Very frustrating to always feel like I barely have enough men to get the job done.

Whoa! Micro management indeed! It looks like they are doing an incredible amount of research and work - but will it be playable?

I've always read that the reason Hitler didn't use that was because he and all the leaders of Germany knew it would be returned on them many times over. That plus the fact it would have offended the Swiss and other neutrals that they needed for economic reasons.

I think some short games would be great! Nice to be able to finish them in an evening or a afternoon!

I'm with SeaMonkey - I would LOVE to see a strategic level game on the pacific! That's where my Dad served, so I'm partial to it. But the challenges are many, with the size of those islands, all the naval and air warfare, plus the Asian mainland if you covered that. It's a huge challenge that's for sure. But if Hubert designed it, I for one would buy it!

Blashy and Dave - Aw come on now - don't rub it in!! We're in enough pain as it is waiting for all this! Have a heart guys!! Oh yeah - I've also been playing all the Campaign games recently bought from Matrix.

I've been checking it out on the forums, etc. I have to say some of it looks good, but I haven't bought yet because of some seems to be major drawbacks, PLUS I've got to save my dough for SC2-WaW! But I might in the future - maybe after the first patch? I agree though that another game on this subject can only be good!

Whoa! It looks incredible! Hubert - on that first picture of the Stalingrad scenario - were the Army Group names and boundaries added to the screen shot - or is there a screen in the game that actually shows all that? Can't wait to spend my money on this one!!

Hey - I'm still playing a game with your mod and something really weird has happened! I went out of the room for several AI turns to do stuff, and all of a sudden noticed that a French Partisan until captured Luxemburg! I'm pretty tired up in the East right now, and was prepared to transport a unit or two when during the AI air phase I saw some US air fleets IN FRANCE, next to a French city the partisans had captured! I'm attacking them now, but so far there is one US bomber in France, that just operated out, but I took the French city so the 4 fighters units are stuck there!! Pretty strange seeing air units operating into territory captured by partisans and operating from there! I'm still enjoying your mod greatly - can't wait for you to update it once the new add on is out. I don't know how you can stop the AI from doing that, but thought you'd want to know.

I thought you'd probably do this - and totally understand. I just want to thank you for all the works you've put into this mod - it's really fantastic, and I'm enjoying it greatly! Can't wait to see what you'll do with the new one!
