Agreed. He, and almost the entire German high command believed Normandy was a diversion to the main show that would take place at Calie - or however you spell it!! Their own belief that the shortest route would be the best and the many Allied disinformation plan work about as well as they could have.

Rommel was in command of the troops on the coast, he answered to Von Rundstedt who of course answered to Hitler. All of them thought the Allies were coming into Calais area, and with the exception of Herr Hitler, they weren't bad generals, just wrong in this case. Due in no small part to the excellent deception program the Allies put into effect. I don't know how you'd model that in a game like this other than the Allies having the freedom to invade where ever they like, which of course we do have! Beyond that I can't see anywhere else to go.

Kuni, Glad to hear you are going to address the AI at some point. I'm one of those AI only players and would love to play this one - sounds like you've done a superior job!

Thanks for the tip on hitting escape! As to the main point of all this - I think the very fact that there's so much disagreement tends to prove that the game is more balanced than many say it is. The historical side is entirely another question of course. I'd like to see a histoical game, but not completely so. I mean, if everyone is limited to only what they actually had in WW2 then you can't pursue alternate approaches to the war. To allow us the freedom to "change history" means there has to be some things in the game that aren't correct from a historical perspective. When add playbalance to that I think it tends to explain the decision made by the designer and testers. Of course that doesn't mean we'll all AGREE with their decisions, but at least we can understand why they've done what they done.

I've found that I can alt tab out of it fine as long as it's not running the AI. If it's my turn I can alt tab out, check e-mail etc. Do it all the time.

YES - you are missing out big time! Like you I had a some difficulty adjusting to the SC2 - it looks different and displays different than the original. The AI needs lots of work, etc. Inspite of all that - it's plays better, and in a year or so after a few more patches to boost the AI - SC2 will be incredible! As things stand now - it's great and I love it. It's a better game now than SC1 even with the flaws the Hubert and company are working on fixing. Buy it now buddy!

I've got one in France right now, I'm in July of '44 of the Barbarossa Campaign, it's up to level 3 and so far has been pretty good at dinging the RN when they show up to try and bombard units stationed on the coast. I haven't decided yet how much they are worth, but since my tech went up fast I decided to build one - besides, they look really cool!!

Hi Hubert, My rez is 1440 X 900 Which sound big but the game will only let me click the lowest setting on resoultion. Strange. The game is GREAT - I'm having fun trying figure it out - just took Moscow and am still driving forward in the East in early '44 in the Barbarossa campaign. That's my problem, I can't access the other settings, the only one I can check is the lowest one - so I don't see much of the map! Is there anyway to change that short or changing my screen resolution? I have a widescreen laptop and sure don't want to mess up the rez it shipped with - it's perfect - EXCEPT for SC2. :confused: Ideas anyone?

Go to download.com and type in download manager in the search box - there'sa bunch of them. I don't use them - but they do work.

I just got my game downloaded, it took a long time to get to the download screen, but once there only took about 35minutes to get the whole game. The license was no problem at all, it worked smooth as silk. I'd like to again thank all you great guys at Battlefront for your help and support! I'm at work - so I only played two turns and took out Poland, now it's back to making a living!

Hey Kuni, I preordered weeks ago, and I live in America and apparently got dropped from the system somehow. LIke I said on another thread, stuff happens, those of us who are out of luck will just have to be patient. What else can we do??

Hey Moon, I can't seem to find an e-mail that battlefront sent me for my pre-order. I do have the transaction number for the credit card I used. Was an e-mail sent? If so then apparently I either didn't get it or didn't file it right.
