  1. I too would love to see better post game and even in-game stats. During the game, being able to bring up last turn summaries of all the pop-up messages, unit losses, etc. from the last turn. After the game a larger summary showing more details on total kills etc. I want to know how many carriers, battleships, etc. I sunk. How many Marines were lost, what my total losses are, and also, who my most decorated units during the war were. Did I do more damage with my carriers or with my land-based air units.
  2. A great addition to the reports screen would be a last turn intel summary. I often find myself forgetting what got sunk, what ships were spotted and where, and what other significant popups told me. Ex: Was that a cruiser or a battleship I sunk last turn? I don't see that carrier anymore, where did I spot it last turn? Even better would be if a log could be kept for saved games and accessed through the reports screen. It would be a great aide for building AARs. Something in this format: [Date] Allies Battleship spotted off Tokyo Australia allows US to use Brisbane Nevada refloated in Pearl Harbor MacArthur arrives in Australia The Dutch are scared Marines deployed in San Diego Carrier Soryu sunk by BB New Mexico Axis Chinese 5th destroyed by Japanese 2nd Chinese 6th destroyed by Japanese 23rd Tactical Bombers Hong Kong Surrenders etc. etc.
  3. The impact of weather in SC-PT is huge. A much bigger impact IMHO than any of the other SC games. In my first try at the full campaign I had air units in India, Burma, and China that were largely useless because I couldn't get them off the ground. How long is the monsoon season anyway? I'm wondering what other players experiences have been and if there are any tips to getting the most bang for your air-unit-buck. I eventually moved my Indian bomber to NE Australia to help defend my buildup there and try and damage any IJN shipping I spotted. It saw much more action there. It would also be great to have some kind of weather forecast in the game. Not sure how it would be modeled but it would be nice to know what my chances are each month for clear weather in different areas. Loving this game!
  4. If it's a help Alan, you can trade your Quad Core system for my Pentium III system. I get a real good look at the movements on mine.
  5. France surrendered with just one paratrooper in Paris and all its armies still intact? Was Benelux still neutral at this point?
  6. TaoJah, Glad it just wasn't me. I just figured it out. Soft = Infantry (I guess because people are kind of squishy when compared to tanks and battleships) This is why they have values for: Soft Attack (Infantry or Partisan or HQ) Tank Attack (Tank) Air Attack (Air) etc. etc. It has nothing to do with counterattacks or anything else.
  7. Still not getting it. Are these a measure of how much counter attack damage a unit gives or takes? Example: Soft Attack is how much damage you do to your attacker during a combat move? Soft Defense is how resistant you are to taking damage from the person you just attacked during a combat move?
  8. Sorry, need to bring this one back to life. Do I understand this correctly? Germany has heavy tanks level 1 and 1 chit invested in heavy tanks. Russia has heavy tanks level 3. Because Russia has better tanks and Germany has invested in heavy tank research Germany gets a "catch up" bonus which increases its chances of developing German tanks level 2? If Germany also invested in Intel, its chances of developing Tanks level 2 is even better? If Russia's tank level were lower than Germany's, Intel would not increase Germany's chances of developing higher level tanks but would decrease Russia's chances of developing higher level tanks and catching up. Intel is basically a "catch up" bonus modifier which decreases your opponents ability to catch up to you in areas you have advanced and let's you catch up to your opponents more quickly in areas they have advanced. Correct?
  9. What are the soft attack and soft defense attributes? What do they do? Can't find it anywhere?
  10. My other point is that a carrier should take damage differently than other naval units because it is essentially 2 units (air and navy). In the game it is far to easy for a couple of cruisers to go in and kill the carrier. The cruisers would be detected by the carriers air screen and either the carrier would run or attack before the cruisers got there. Also if a carrier is attacking using its fighters, just the fighters will take damage, not the carriers and escorts.
  11. Yes, they may become super carriers relative to what each side had historically. However, they aren't cheap, require a substantial investment in research, and take the longest to build. If historically the UK or Germany or Russia had made carriers a priority and thrown research, time and money at it, is it conceivable that they would have been able to develop something comparible to what the US had? I think so. So in the game, if I make it a priority, I should get my super carrier.
