  1. I thought that the HQ only supplied it's commanded units. I don't know how the hell I missed that. The other thing I didn't realize is that Efficiency is the supply rating. I always thought it was the MPP. Thanks guys!
  2. I've read all the supply threads in the WAW forum and have read through the manual and can't seem to find a reason why a Tank yet to move this turn and sitting on a 6 MPP city would only have a supply of 3. Can anyone tell me how that could be? Also, The AI Allies have just invaded Normandy; I killed Monty but a turn later, all the UK units still have supply as if they were being supplied by Patton. Does the AI get an unlimited number of units to support as long as the unit is in range? Thanks. EDIT: Ok, so when I moved my tank I see that the "strength" is 3. I always assummed that the MPP number was the strength. How does one see the strength of a city when a unit is on it?
  3. But if I surround Moscow every other city besides those you mentioned would have 5 supply?
  4. So if I were to surround Moscow, would every city (except Stalingrad and the other natural supply points) be cut from Capital supply?
  5. One other question besides the one just above this post: Can supply take a detoured route to the capital?
  6. Oh man I wish I had known this. In order to cut a rail line, do I just need to turn the tile around it my country's color by moving across it? Also, are roads a source of supply? Thanks. Glad I saved my game before invading russia.
  7. I hope no one minds if I post a question about WAW here since the other forum is dead and I figure the question still applies. In the manual, it is recommended under Axis Strategy to perform large encirclements. I've yet to see an opportunity to do this since the Russians are typically with a hex of a city. Am I missing something about how to do them? Does the city get less supply if it is cut off from the capital? Any help is appreciated.
  8. pzngdr- Is there an ATR mod for Weapons and Warfare? I see one for PDE; will that work with it? Thanks.
  9. I'm guessing that means rounding up? Ok Blitz bonus it is because it was the first shot of the war. Thanks for your help.
  10. Another question for ya: In the beginning of Fall Weiss, I have a 10 Str Army with a readiness of 81% attacking a Polish Army with no experience, entrenchment or defense bonus. Since an Army's soft attack is 3, shouldn't the expected dmg be (.81*3)+/-1? I would think that the combat predictor at the top would have said either 2 or 3 depending on how it rounds. Instead it showed 4. What gives? Also, anyone know how the game deals with rounding?
  11. Wow. I've only skimmed it thus far but that looks fantastic! Thanks.
  12. I'm not very good at math (re. interpreting the combat equations) and was hoping to get some rules of thumb on how things like supply, readiness, strength, effectiveness etc, affect combat damage. For instance, 1 point of supply is perhaps worth X amount of dmg on average. Can anyone enlighten me on some possible way to see these relationships? I'm actually playing Weapons and Warfare but figure it's the same essentially for Global Conflict. Thanks in advance!
  13. Is the 3rd Reich mod a lot more complex than the vanilla game?
  14. Well this is what I was wondering. That is, if the improvements to AI and overall playability (like sleeping units) are worth managing a few more units. If I have to play Japan then I don't think so. Do you guys think the mod community will have a european theatre mod that is similar to the vanilla WaW game (without too much added complexity)? I realize I asked the question in a previous thread but am asking for a comment on complexity. Thanks.
  15. My main concern with these types of games is the overwhelming unit count. I just played the demo and saw that the axis had 62 ground units to start. The only other game I've played (and liked) in this genre were the fast maps on Commander: Europe at War. On the fast maps you're managing maybe 20 unit. So.... 1. Is it possible to have the AI play Japan while I play Germany, Italy, etc.? 2. Does SC2 have small map versions like Commander:EAW?
