  1. I think the term "Aufklärung" is used on a operational level (recconaissance), and "Späh", "Späher" is a tactical term (scout?).
  2. I tried this feature sometimes in the past and it does function, but you have to count on the fact that the following barrage may vary a little bit from the desired bombard location. The best thing is to adjust the fire two times. And if want to shell another blind location on another part of the map, your "computed" deflection for the first location is not correct any more (same procedure). A lot of time will be wasted, that´s sure.
  3. You can achieve this only by good timing. You must know which command time delay the unit has, and how long it takes for the unit to shoot once (twice,...). But it is a gamble, moving e.g. your Bazooka after it has shot at the tank, because it attracts every enemy unit. Sneaking (=low profile) deeper into woods or buildings might help. Be sure to position your shooting unit at the very edge of the enemies´ line of sight, so that is has only a short distance to move.
  4. Splendid! Have you tried to raise the rilfe in its bitmap a little bit? The hight of the horizontal line normally coincides/agrees with the weapons barrel.
  5. J4D, what do you think about it? As someone modding in the Pacific and vietnam theater of war using the CM regulations I think that M1A1´s idea of a Combat Mission for a modern military conflict there is quite potential in generating small scale battles between Iraqi and US forces. M1A1, do you already have an idea how to represent your name´s armoured pedant in CM? This "line appearing above the barrel of the M-16" is a sole bitmap, which can be changed by a full violet bmp of the same size. For CMBO there was such a mod. Otherwise you also can raise the M-16 in the bitmap a little bit. The CMAK time-range gives you a lot of possibilities for example to generate different states/stages of the (enduring) campaign, and so different uniforms during that time (e.g. the airborne troops in northern iraq at the beginning of the campaign without their desert equipment). I am impressed.
  6. I have now Italian infantryin my back, they gathered around the flags in Gela and the flag at the eastern coast. At the later I am lucky that I have kept one platoon of infantry from the last battle as reserve, but Gela has to be occupied a second time by my reinforcments. I think I should have kept the core forces from battle one and two in the town without attacking north. The AI only counterattacks very late in each battle, most of its units are concentrated around the victory locations to the north. Also most of the tanks. The advanced elements (several ranger companies) are now directly in contact from the start with not much ammo left (e.g. the AT-guns), and I cannot reposition them in the blue setup zones. Because of this, some units, which had been to near to other ones in the last battle, are now unprotected in the open. I will restart from the end of the first battle...
  7. So far I have played the first two battles as Allied, securing Gela and about 400m inland. Well, in the setup of the third battle the entire deployment zone is merely in the mediterean. Every of my core forces are in blue zones without ammunition being replenished and the new reinforcements are concentrated on the beach. There was no enemy breakthrough in my lines the battle before. I will continue it this way, but will loose a lot of time with organizing and bringing forward the reinforcements.
  8. Although the middle one appears not to be historic, I like it most. Just beautiful!
  9. Yes, use some forward reconaissance troops (sniper, HQ with stealth bonus) in order to detect the enemy line of advance and to get a guess how big the force is. Retreat immediatelly. Cover your retreat with artillery fire (smoke e.g.). Put your defenses somewhere where you have safe routes to it. Counterattack with fixed bayonets or attack the enemy force before it reaches your main line of resistance. When you want to cancel contact with the enemy forces, it is better to leapfrog with advance orders over short distances. When a team or a squad gets pinned or panicked you have to choose wether you stay and rally them or you left them alone, thus saving the rest of your forces.
  10. Dandelion, in this case it is better to split one large scenario into several smaller scenarios at company level.
  11. Should I give them my scenario "One gallant rush" about Australians near Gemas, Malaysia? Keine Lust.
  12. I think you may ask Gyrene if he wants to host them on his site ( http://gyrenes-junk.dyndns.org/ ), where he offers a photo section with also reenactment photographies (war and peace).
