Whoops. I got the author and playtesters mixed up. Go ahead and apply the compliments to yourself, Richie. lol -
Cannot find RoW IV scenarios anywhere
Shmavis replied to Redwolf's topic in Combat Mission - Scenario Talk
I'm playing as Americans in "Methode Champenoise" and Germans in "If at all". Why? -
There's always World War Two Online...or Battleground: Europe. Whatever they're calling it nowadays. It's exactly what you describe, except on the Western Front.

Weird visuals in TrappenJagd

Acid? I've only played a battle by that name that Renaud designed. I had no problems. -
Infantry wont follow orders even when not supressed...

Yes. Yes, you always are. *grabs popcorn* -
Some have mentioned using FRAPS to record turns, but the resulting media file for just one turn was quite large. Several hundred megs, I believe. Recording, say, a 30 turn battle would take up a huge chunk of your hard drive. Anyone can clarify, if I'm mistaken. EDIT: This thread may be useful. Other recording programs mentioned are "SnagIt" and "Game Cam". [ May 02, 2007, 02:54 AM: Message edited by: Shmavis ]

Hello, Kingfish! I'm currently playing "Methode Champenois". I'm probably about to be slaughtered, but the map is great and I'm having fun. "If at all..." is proving a tough nut to crack, too. -
Infantry can command a StuG?
Shmavis replied to Shmavis's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
I just got my own PC fixed a couple of days ago. I was on the wife's laptop until she took it with her on her latest trip to who-knows-where. Then I had to endure several painful days without home internet access. Can't a guy watch porn in the local library computer room without being disturbed? Sheesh. -

So...I go offline for a few weeks and you start playing other people. Is that how it is Travis? Fine, know what? FINE! </font> -
Right. I'm playing GeorgeMc's Strachwitz at Kharkov scenario and I'm just starting the third and final battle. While moving some units during the setup phase, I noticed a red command line leading from an infantry platoon HQ to a StuG. Said StuG had lost its battery commander in the previous battle. This is news to me.

American armour-Bovington tank museum
Shmavis replied to British Tommy's topic in Combat Mission - Scenario Talk
I highly recommend the museum to anyone who hasn't visited and that you buy advance tickets, unless you enjoy queues. -
Aw. Where's my batch of horsefeathers? I always wanted one. My point is that you constantly refer to loss reports as an infallible resource readily available for review, even after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. I realize that a plethora of records were revealed, but I don't understand how you can be so sure of their absolute accuracy, much less their continued existence for such a vast conflict over almost 4 years. Surely you're aware that the Stalinist era was often a dangerous time to speak or display the truth. By the way, I'm not nationally biased.

German 88mm - what's the point...
Shmavis replied to Sgt AA's topic in Combat Mission - Tips and Tricks
Ugh. I can think of no greater pain than trying to deploy an 88 offensively. I was playing an attack scenario set in October or November 1941, and my PBEM opponent had 3 or 4 KV tanks. So, the single 88 that I had was desperately needed. And, of course, when I attempted to place it, the gun was dropped in the wrong spot. Yay. -
Hah. Don't be fooled.

Hah! Hello, Jason. Only you would be here on this day...and me, but I'm on vacation. Happy New Year, crankypants.

Thanks!

I was wondering if anyone knows of any scenarios based on the battle of Narva in 1944. A search here turned up a scenario called "Orphanage Hill". It seems to have gone the way of the old Scenario Depot. Thanks in advance.

Iconic WWII Photo - Anyone know who it is?
Shmavis replied to Urban Shocker's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Another timely rescue from National Socialist fanboy madness, eh, Jason? -
"Rumsfeld is gone?" the sergeant asked. "Really?" Mr. Menti nodded. Lance Cpl. James L. Davis Jr. looked up from his cigarette. "Who's Rumsfeld?" he said. Too funny.

Ah, Mike. I'd call it shameless self-promotion, if your work wasn't so durn perty.
