  1. Rather than think of just trains, I think of 'more 3-D objects' to add additional flavour to the maps. That would be very cool. That's been a staple of flight simulator enthusiasts for years. . .
  2. What do you mean by 'it' in your first sentence? If 'it' refers to the game, then yes, you can play the game via LAN. If 'it' refers to WEGO, then no. WEGO is a specific mode which is not supported in multi-player. You could used shared folders over a LAN if you wish to get close to the WEGO experience. You'd still be playing 'PBEM' mode though.
  3. Not sure if there's a point to this thread, at least so far. Certainly nothing of value yet. Either way, Battlefront has a Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/battlefront. As for Twitter, Battlefront doesn't appear to have an account, however, there are several folks 'tweeting' about 'Battle for Normandy' and 'Battlefront'.
  4. All I have done is copy my 'Outgoing Email' file to my Dropbox 'Public' folder. I then right click and select 'Dropbox | Copy Public Link', and the email my opponent the link. In one case, my opponent chose not to install Dropbox, so he emails his file back to me.
  5. I believe this is all mentioned in pages 56+ in the manual. That being said, if you're initiating the game, it's all under 'Quick Battle'. If you're going back and forth with PBEM games, see Saved Games. You need to save his incoming files in your 'Game Files\Incoming Email' folder, and copy yours to him from your 'Game Files\Outgoing Email' folder. If you're joining up another player who has initiated network play, try Join Network Game. There's a lot of work to make this successful. Router config, external IP's, port forwarding, etc. Finally, BF doesn't make it easy to play over the Internet - - at all. I assume adding this capability would have added another 6 months to the development time. For PBEM, I copy the save games to my Dropbox public folder and send my opponent a link to it. Works like a charm and keeps my email from getting hammered.
  6. Hopefully, my email is in my profile. Prefer small battles. Am still a noob.
  7. Thanks for the link. Would love to see a 'Red Barricades' style campaign game. Oh, and despite the *archaic* multiplayer code, I'd buy any future WWII based Combat Mission game that's released.
  8. Yes it did sound easy in the manual and no I don't think my units had much of a base of fire at all. . .
  9. I went into the directory and deleted any by hand.
  10. I'd be up for that as well as more vibrant bases which show the direction the units are facing.
  11. Save files go in one end, and out pops a .divx movie!
  12. I'd really like to see a CMBN action movie. Less planning and more of the action phase. I suspect a decent movie would require WEGO without all of the icons.
  13. I raised this topic in the following thread: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=96861 Having played with it a bit, at this point if I had the sole choice of the CM2 method or the CM1, I'll take the CM2, as it'll help me to learn the structure of a real battalion. Just took a bit of an explanation and some practice. I'm good now. . .
  14. Yes it is. I wouldn't want to go back to WEGO with this capability. I also think that the pause button could be 'timed'. For example, you get up to a pre-agreed amount of pause time before the other player gets points.
  15. Since they haven't provide any in-game capability, this is as good a place as any. Feel free to email me at atuline at gmail dot com. I strongly suggest you setup a free Dropbox account in order to exchange files. I hear they're big. And no, I haven't PBEM'ed with CMBN yet. Cheers!
  16. Looks to me like Pegasus bridge. Played it in Call of Duty as well as Advanced Squad Leader. Nice job, btw.
  17. Yep. I even dealt with the watermark in the demo.
  18. That got it thanks. Purchasing needs some more explanation in the manual.
  19. Thanks Dude, That seems to be the *very* unfortunate case, however . . . I can delete the other platoons, but can't delete the Battalion Headquarters HQ Team, the Operations Team and the two jeeps. I also have to keep the Company HQ Team and XO as well as the Platoon HQ. I can see keeping the platoon HQ, but the rest? Furthermore, if I go with 'Suggestions', it would appear that I don't get all this overhead. Seriously, someone has got to be kidding me here.
  20. I started a small Quick Battle and am trying to purchase a formation. Let's say I just need a rifle platoon and the minimal amount of HQ to support it. It turns out that if I expand Infantry Battalion down to the rifle platoon level and double click on it, I end up with the entire Battalion selected. I can then go and de-select stuff, but not nearly enough. When I expand any one of the battalions, the background for the contents is 'brown', and it appears that I can't select individual components from within there. So, how do I select platoons within a battalion without taking the whole thing?
