  1. ok well that problem just sort of stopped happening..but now everytime I save something, when I go to load it it says there are 0 turns the map size is tiny there is no description and the same sides are fighting each other (i.e. US against US) what the hell?
  2. Ok whenever I try to load a map or pretty much do anything I get an "Unhandled Exception" error. I looked on the site to find the solution, found one, downloaded directx 9.0b....did NOT fix the problem...
  3. I'm assuming that this hypothetical situation involves one of two things; 1. Patton being the first to launch a major attack with his 3rd army. or 2. Patton is given command of the allied forces. If 1 were to happen I think the Americans would see success, initially, but knowing Patton his logistics would be shot to hell after he continues to advance deeper...and deeper. Lets not forgett that the somewhat infamous "Russian Winter" would soon be approaching. No army thus far as managed to survive those type of conditions, regardless of size and logistical power. I'll continue later, need to goto class...
  4. Motorcycles as far as I know weren't seen that often late in the war on the front lines, they were more common in the rear with the gear.
  5. Would depend on the situation I suppose. Given the German tactic of 'Blitzkrieg' the supporting elements of the attack would not be far behind, and, should everthing go according to plan, the enemy forces would be in some form of retreat, spread out, or otherwise is draught from the speed of the attack. This in mind, said sturmkompanie wouldn't have to defend for very long. Since an effect offense would require mommentum and defending immediately after an attack looses mommentum. However, that would be reffering to the early years of the war. Later in the war, with the introduction of an East front and the major allied forces on the western front, it may be more probable that you would see any German unit defending shortly after an attack, as they would want to consolidate their gains as well as bring up support, which at the time (late war) was not in the best of shape, given logistics moral, allied air superiority etc.
  6. If you look at the turrets of the A13 Cruiser and A-14 Crusader, you'll notice that they do infact have slopped armor. However they used the same chasis, as did most takes built in the UK, with the exception of the American lend lease program. The chasis for the most part, did not have any sloped armor, or atleast any that would make a damn difference. I believe there docterine, and correct me if I am wrong, on tank design (atleast in the early years of the war) was firepower and speed first, as was evident in the A tank models (A being A13, 14 etc). However for their heavier tanks (I.E. Churchill, Valentine etc.) it was Protection and Firepower, then speed.
  7. By China I ment, Burma, was tired at the time I wrote it : P On another note, yes in 621 I believe they used afew jeeps. As far as other nations, aside from the US, using halftracks in the war; I wouldn't hold my breath on it. If they were used at all, they weren't used to any great effect or in any large amount of numbers to be of any significance in the PTO.
  8. As far as I know, UK troops in China, as that's the only location where they played the largest role in the pacific, used Universal Carriers on a limited role, however, jeeps were widley used if that helps at all.
  9. Also must remember that most 'casual gammers' have ADD and the intellect of a moist rock.
  10. Just a note for future battles. If you are playing allied, never EVER send your tanks to go head on head with jerry tanks or you WILL get your rear handed to you, your best bet is to flank them as best you can, and use the terrain to your advantage.
  11. For the sake of my own sanity I'll just make up a situation. A US force of two platoons advances to the edge of a forrest where it encounters a field, on the far end of the field machine gun and rifle fire errupts from German positions. Platoon A consists of 3 rifle squads, 1 Bazooka, and 1 .50cal. Platoon B consists of 3 rifle squads and a bazooka. Platoon A takes up positions and establishes a base of fire using the .50 as it's main fire power. While A keeps Jerry tied up platoon B splits it's squads into half teams and advances on both sides of the field in full sprint, 3 half teams on one side, 3 on the other along with the zook and commander. With A keeping up a steady rate of fire, B is able to flank the Jerry positions and overwhelm the defenders.
  12. best bet, if you can would be to pull back to a place with some cover and reform your forces, then proceed from there. Also don't send entire platoons out, take one squad and split it, then send the two half teams ahead of your platoons as forward recon teams. It may be abit tedious but it helps, if you have enough forces try sending a whole platoon of half teams ahead, then once they engage an enemy force, flank with 2 other platoons while moving a heavy weapons team, if you have one, up to reenforce the half teams and estasblish a base of fire.
