  1. Hi, During the CMx1 games I made liberal use of the tab key to center my screen on my unit when in the top down mode. Or to put my screen just slightly behind my unit so I could see it fire and also where it was shooting. From what I can tell the tab key puts my unit offscreen. I miss the old way. Is there a way to change this that I am unaware of? This game is tougher for me to play since my laptop doesn't have a mousewheel or a numeric keypad.
  2. Hey Big Time Software guys, I've been a lurker on the boards since before the CMBO release (I think I've got four posts since the monkeys destroyed the board). It's probably ironic that one of my few posts concerns CMx1 pathfinding given the current controversies. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you guys for all the work you've put in over the years. I really appreciate everything you've done and all the hard work that you have put in over the years. The CMx1 series was the best thing in wargaming I've experienced and I got a WHOLE lot of play from it (still playing as a matter of fact). CMSF doesn't appear to be my cup of tea at the moment due to some of the problems you might have noticed people mentioning, but I have confidence that you will do your best on the patches. You have a great history of doing so with the other purchases I have made at your company over the years. While I doubt if I will play CMSF much in its current incarnation I have no regrets about sending you more of my money. The years of CMx1 play were making me feel guilty and I'm glad I could send you something in return for the best game I have ever played. I must say I loved the WEGO system and PBEM. Real life intrudes on me quite often, and those two things were a godsend from you. I also wanted to say thanks for the eLicense. I haven't seen too many mentions of that, but I love being able to run the game on my laptop without having to go to a warez site and getting a NO-CD crack. It is nice that you treat us honest customers well and can still copy protect your IP investment. Well, back to lurking for me. See you in a few years with another post. Lurker765 from BoB
  3. Longtime lurker here. I've just finished playing the two CMAK demo scenarios and encountered some troubling tank movements. * * *SPOILER WARNING * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * In Line of Defense I was playing the Germans and had my Tiger up near the Church when I spotted his tank destroyers arriving on the scene. My Tiger was at the fork in the road near the church and I gave it orders to reverse back down the road and then rotate towards the tank destroyers after it got back behind the woods some. Instead, next turn it turned sideways, and started racing parallel to the tank destroyers. It was then hammered by the TDs and killed. Before that point the tank commander had buttoned up but was not killed, the morale was fine, and it was not shocked. In the other battle ( Fruhlingswind ) my german panzers were racing around the berm on the opposite side of the oasis. They were ordered to turn the corner using the hill as cover and then turn to their right and head towards the mosque and hunt towards the sides of the Grants. A couple of them were given orders to rotate towards the Grants and start firing immediately. What happened was one of the tanks raced around the berm, turned the corner and then turned its rear to the Grants and started racing towards the side of the map. The next turn it got killed before it had a chance to rotate back towards the battle. The tank commander was buttoned up, but morale was good and it was not shocked. I can probably dig out the game files if needed, but has anyone else encountered this? I think I have seen this once in all my CMBO and CMBB experience, but I have ran into it in two of my three CMAK battles. [ December 08, 2003, 02:33 PM: Message edited by: gravburg ]
