  1. Great idea. I'm totally in favor of it. I know several guys in KG that would buy this.
  2. I tried what you suggested; turning off antialiasing, etc. Also, after a week of research on 2 different driver forums (Nvidias & Tweaks), I decided the 158.45 was the safe upgrade to move to from my 158.16. Bottom line: no dice. Game loads great, but as soon as you move the mouse, the picture fragments. I registered at Nvidia's forums a few days ago & described my troubles. 35 views so far & no response yet. Hopefully Vista's SP will save the day. Until then I guess I'll have to install CM on my Wife's laptop,...sigh. I'll report here if I hear anything new.
  3. @kgsan Hi, I posted on the same trouble as you in another thread but no one responded- I have the same card (256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS)& 32mbVista. I am no expert but I think it's a driver issue. My version is 158.16 - what is yours? I've heard the closer you get to the latest driver version, you're increasing your chances for problems. If you find a driver that works, please let me know & I will do the same. I'm currently searching for online info on what the latest "stable" driver is. Thanks. 4. @ Renaldo We have the same card (256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS)& 32mbVista- any luck finding the correct driver? I've got version 158.16 Any new information would be of help. Anyone. Thank you.
  5. Hello, CMBB trouble- I'm a novice at working out these sort of problems. Would appreciate any help you could give. Just got new pc: Vista 32bit Intel Core 2 Duo Processor 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS CMBB loads fine. In game, when I move the mouse, the background graphics start cascading all over the place. Is there a particular driver I need or setting I should be at? Thank you very much.
  6. I don't post here that often, but Jeff's work is well known & respected in our war gaming club. It's ironic that just last week, a few of us were chatting online about how much fun we had multiplaying his Ponyri Express scenario a couple years ago- a classic if there ever was one. My thoughts & prayers go out to Jeff, his Wife & family.
  7. I would like to play Bagration, and any of the early camps, like Moscow 41', etc,..
  8. These maps look very well done. Ponyri & now this! Busy busy! Looking forward to playing them all. Much appreciated.
  9. I would very much like to see these scenarios. Could I have the zip as well, please? I am interested in ponyri very much. Can't wait to see your work Jason!
  10. Some people in this thread have asked the question and I don't think it's been answered yet. Could you tell us- if we have an East Front title game for example, with say 3 subsequent modules for the Eastern Front title, can we compile all the different units from each module for that title? I realize we won't be mixing a Napoleonic title with WW1 modules, etc,.. My apologies if this has already been covered somewhere else. Thank you
  11. At Kampfgruppe we have been routinely playing multiplayer games with as many as 4 vs 4 via PBEM. A team member plots his orders then passes the saved game file to the next person on his team until everyone has plotted, then the file is executed and sent to the other team. We have 2 different rule sets our membership have created, covering cummunication, logistics, etc,.. In a campaign we are currently playing (designed by KG_Thorshammer), the element of role playing is incredible. It takes on a life of it's own. This same campaign has been going on for over a year now, spanning several maps. We troop import to simulate reserves, leaving the battle for resupply, etc,.. We use Nafziger's series of German OOB books and Sharps Russian OOB volumes, plus other books covering a particular battle and it ends up being quite impressive. Not perfect, but damn close. I've managed to recreate the opening Russian attack at Kapitanovka which took place during the Korsun Pocket. That operation over the course of 6 battles involved approx 5 regiments of infantry and support. These long campaigns/operations have rarely been smaller than regimental sized and we've experienced no problems forcing the game to run at this level. Small battles are cool too. To each his own. I just think everyone would like the option of playing at least the same size engagements as we can now, regardless of what size preference you have.
  12. Originally posted by Canuck Now shifting focus for a minute onto how many people actually play PBEM vs AI - I would say that is quite a low estimate. 20%? I honestly find that hard to believe. My experience with online CM communities points heavily in favor of PBEM. Not including my small war gaming club, off the top of my head I can name StrategyZoneOnline, Rugged Defense Club, FGM, Band of Brothers (sorry if I'm missing a site)- all of which run either ladders or at least tournaments that are focused on playing PBEM. Combined, your talking about hundreds of war gamers. Maybe I'm wrong, but I fail to see any of these sites, which are the most prominent in the online world of CM, focusing on AI play. And while it can be argued that "hundreds" of people represent only a fraction of total sales, these are the "hardcore" fans of the game that have gone so far as to create and/or belong to these communities. In fairness to the issue, I'd like to see a poll on these numbers or some evidence to support this "supposed" AI majority. Respectfully, KG_Cloghaun
  13. Howdy guys! Change- 1. Campaign Mode 2. Ability to design our own Campaigns 3. True Multiplayer system 4. Troop importing from previous battles. 5. More depth/options to the battle editor Don't change- 1. PBEM 2. Ability to design our own maps 3. The WEGO system
