  1. Seconded. This has been an annoyance for years.
  2. Oh good, they can spend the money they will raise through Kickstarter on something else interesting then Though I have to comment that the thread you linked to is mostly ancient history -- most posts are several months old -- and there isn't much of 2014 left anymore to deliver all the promised goodies. I guess BFC wouldn't be BFC if they tweeted every time they made a test build, but would be nice to hear something every now and then. Like an announcement of pre-orders opening soon?
  3. Yeah, that's why I suggested something where the bulk of the grunt work could be outsourced to a modeling/graphics shop. The 3.0 engine already has so many features that I can't immediately think what major coding would be needed for Tunisia '43 -- if we can live without multi-turreted tanks for the time being that is Of course BFC would need to do quality control -- I know from first hand experience how subcontractors work -- and perhaps minor engine adjustments, but having the money needed up front via Kickstarter would mean more freedom of movement for them in financial terms, even if it doesn't buy more man-hours per week for them directly. At least financially their existing projects wouldn't be disrupted.
  4. Just a thought: I'd like to have some nice Tunisia scenarios and campaigns, like probably some other readers of this forum would. Assuming a Tunisia module could be created with minimal code additions to CMFI and the work would be mostly about new 3D models (buildings, landscape objects) and uniform/vehicle textures as well as map and scenario design, BF could easily contract the work from some 3rd party if they have the money. That's what they already do for the artwork, isn't it? So why not make a Kickstarter project to see how much interest there would be and whether the funding would reach the amount BF would need to make such a module a low-risk (or even zero-risk) venture?
  5. France 1940 Barbarossa North Africa (at least 1943 module for CMFI) I gave CMSF a try, but I don't like that modern stuff, so I'm probably going to skip Black Sea unless the demo is really something else.
  6. Good luck selling this chair in the UK: http://royaldesign.fi/viewitem.aspx?ID=115124 Turks have a way of naming their domestic appliances: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ar%C3%A7elik
  7. Including the field kitchens. I heard Waffel SS units had the best breakfasts of the war.
  8. Did you try the file in the program installation directory or the one under My Documents (or somefink)? The latter one seems to be the one that has the effect, at least on my PC. And yeah, this seems to be a recurring pain with every CM installation... assigning + to next unit over and over again, needing to fiddle with the hotkeys. Once past that I've enjoyed the game so far :-)
  9. Personally I'd want Barbarossa with all those tin can tanks (Pz IIIs duking it out with T-26s, yei) way before Hungarians and Romanians in '44 or '45. I did play Hungarians and Romanians in CMBB, but to be interesting there would need to be scenarios where they aren't mere whipping boys for the Germans.
  10. What's the likelihood of encountering a Tiger or a Panther, and what would you counter that with? Is Su-85 enough to do that (assuming it would be the cheapest of possible alternatives) reliably? Dinky old T-34/76s will be cat food :-) Stalinorgel battery is a must to set up the proper mood at the beginning!
  11. Mmh. Unnecessary micromanagement. The AI could well calculate that it's instructed to make a tight turn -- basic geometry there -- and coming to the turn adjust speed by itself accordingly, while otherwise proceeding at best possible speed.
  12. Of course he did, it was headed by Ernst Röhm
  13. Heh. That reminds me, I'd pay serious money for Poland '39, Finland '39-'40, France '40 or Barbarossa modules. All those crap tanks are somehow cute...
  14. I once knocked out a Pak 75 and killed off all of the crew with the first spotting round [edit: from a 81mm mortar]. Doubt that will see that ever again!
