  1. Actually I have seen something similar to this but it was in CMx1. All of the units got deployed into a couple of AS. I don't remember if it was more than 1. IIRC it was a glitch that didn't ever repeat itself.
  2. And take up what free time you thought you had.
  3. Expensive is a relative term. If you look at it in the context of total cost of product divided by hours spent in enjoyment, you will find it is quite reasonable. If this includes any VAT from the Information Technology Agreement, not much to be done about that. Having never had to buy with Euros and pay VAT, I can only offer that opinion.
  4. Best is best but sometimes I wish I had a bifocal function on my monitor. Bigger monitor would probably not hurt either.
  5. The Russians did use a mine clearing tank for the initial phase of Bagration, if you can believe everything you see in Soviet Storm on Utube. The capability is in the engine, we know that. Who knows, maybe they could eventually find the way to the Eastern Front. Granted they were probably not very common, but you never know. Maybe RT will get something like a vehicle pack in the future.
  6. Using dropbox in conjuction with a helper program, here I can only speak for CMH, makes it seamless and effortless once configured. CMH will even set up a dropbox folder and share it with your chosen opponent. I had more problems doing it manually. I have learned.
  7. You are going to wind up like the rest of us eventually, addicted and possessing all. Chart yourself a path to follow, and eventually own them all. You will be assimilated, resistance is futile.
  8. I don't know for certain about marshes but I am currently playing a RT battle that features a small river in it. My 82mm mortar rounds hit the water and there isn't even a splash.
  9. One thing to consider is what portion of the war interests you the most? CMFI and GL lets you fight from about July 1943 until the Anzio invasion in early 1944. I prefer that time frame. CMBN + Mg only gives you June 1944 through September 1944. There isn't as much user made content out for the FI family, but there is still 1 more module to go for it. CMBN stops at Market Garden, at least for now.
  10. Haven't read those but if you happen to enjoy air warfare, try The Sudden Sky, B.Michelaard.. 1930's aviation in Germany up to Korea. Covers Spain, WW2, Palestine and Korea. Told from Axis and Allied sides. It is a novel, but a very good read.
  11. And I thought it knocked on the gray stone at the last light of Durin's Day. I guess that was Dwarven Code and not something out of Enigma.
  12. You will be able to see what is out in the open with the uav but you need to have a unit with a.laser designator to call in prescision artillery strikes. You should check the manual to see exactly which Russian units can do that. UAV's dont see things inbuildings very well either. Its all on page 12 of the manual.

  15. Yeah, it,s a little harder with the Russians and a lot less flexible. Great fun when it all comes together, though.
  16. The uav would help you to see but he is using precision arty strikes. Its an option under what kind of strike, like when calling smoke. The asset only gets 1 round/tube, and they come in with no spotting rounds and a minimal wait time.120mm and above have this option, iirc.
  17. IIRC, this first time I did an install on this and did not specify where I wanted it installed, it went into C:\program files (x86). If you are not telling it to go elsewhere, you might look there.
  18. One thing that I would like to see is a way for the designers, whether of battles or campaigns, to put exactly what version of the game that they used when they created it. I know it is not such of a big deal in a battle since it can be fairly easily edited but the campaigns that are created are no small amount of work on the designer and it's a load for the player at times, as well. Especially if the campaign was created early on in the evolution of the game. It might help ease the problem of investing a lot of time in playing something that gets inadvertently broken in future upgrades/patches. If not in the initial briefing then maybe somewhere that is easily found. I have a lot of user created ones downloaded, ok honestly, every one that I see, and it's hard to remember exactly what came with which initial purchase. If this is already there, would someone point out to me where?
  19. I really never realized the extent of the problem. I googled this and came up with a lot of info. "what color combinations are the easiest to see if you are color blind" There does not seem to be a really easy fix, given that the dots are pretty small. I am on a 24" monitor. It would be difficult to tell if I had a smaller one.
  20. Or perhaps have an X superimposed over the dot for an occupied seat. Mmm, that might be misconstrued as a casualty. Maybe a dot within the dot?
  21. You are allowed to install it on 2 devices with the one license. For instance your home pc and your laptop.
  22. We have a number of Texas members at WeBob. Post your idea there.
  23. 1. The demo is just that. A demo with a couple of battles. When you buy the game, you can purchase it either download only or hard disk and download. That is what I always do. You do need the access code to install and activate either way you buy. 2. See above. 3. BN and later compared to BB, well you still hit buttons to get things to happen but if you have downloaded the demo (free) and played that, you have the keyboard functions. There are a few things you can't do just from the demo, like quick battles but it is essentially the same. 3. Operations that you found in BB will not be the same as in the CMx2 family of games.
