hi schrull and others, I was able to extract the files onto the desktop into a folder. However, when trying to start version 1.0 , doesn't work. Tried to install patch 1.01 and it loaded until this error message Extracting Battlefront webpage.url that was as far as it would get. I installed CMAK and it installed and the patch wouldn't install entirely with an error message coming up an error occurred while trying to replace the existing file delete file failed; code5 access is denied it looks to be some problem with windows 7 and this game, not sure still?

I have had this game since the beginning and would finally like to try it. However, I often found the playing of the game more difficult than Cmbb with the playing aid. What do you guys suggest as far as movement arrows and bells and whistles to have in while playing. I like to play wego and I also have cm Normandy, Afghanistan, RT of course and maybe the new Final Blitzkrieg. Thanks and anything that helps with playing is appreciated

I always liked the colored bases underneath the units. Does the game have this ability?

What's the easiest method for c copying the files to the hd? The files are a Cmbb installer?

I have the original disk and I will try again as in. I had this darn game on the computer and I wish I kept it on the hard drive. First thing is to get this installed correctly without the errors coming up. I will try again this afternoon and place it in a different folder. I do have the Cmbb disk as an iso so I don't have to worry about the disk check. However, is that still relevant anymore. I'll also try cmak to see if that gives the same problem. I just like the simplicity of Cmbb and the gameplay. Thanks for your suggestions. When figured out, ill post so others can figure out faster

I used to have the game working on this Windows 7, 64 bit computer. I deleted the game a few months ago and decided to reinstall. I place the CD in the drive and click on the installer line. It detracts the files and then it stops right near the end of the install. Another box comes up with a error message. It doesn't say what the error is. I installed into the default directory that it shows when asking for the install. I can't figure this one out. I must have had this problem last time and fixed it. I also disabled the anti virus as well. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated, my system runs everything and I might try to install cmak and cmbo to see if it has the same problem

I have an original CMBB cd and tried to install the program with the 3 patches and running into problems getting the entire disk to install. I am using Windows 7 and I used to have the game loaded but forgot how to reinstall. It just doesn't install the program. I am using the default directory and tried to first install it on a different drive with the same problem. What do you guys think for a windows 7 install

Hi Sch, Thanks for your response. The AVG program calls it "exceptions" now and I have the entire folder on the exception list. I was playing an online game FPS and the program popped up all of a sudden. Bummer

How do you go about doing this with AVG? I have the AVG pop up when I start the computer. I tell,AVG to ignore but I need it to ignore the file? Any help appreciated on how to do it? Thanks

I enjoyed the colored bases for the units when playing the original cmbb game back in its day. I was wondering if anyone has a mod/tweak to place these in the game. The floating icon is useless when playing with the infantry in the woods. Thanks

I think Battlefront needs in the future to have all these patches in one big file, no more incremental patches when the game is from 2007. However, I did read somewhere that this was done recently. So far, the help given from the company is top notch. They get right back to you on questions, very nice and better than dumpy Steam.

I have the game installed to 1.21. I had a load of problems the other day installing this game with AVG running. Once I disabled this, it worked. I am wary of installing the other patches due to missing the .exe when installing a new patch suggestions and what order?

Same with me sburke. I am still running windows 7 and I have the game installed and patched up to 1.21 version. I am not sure of what patch to place in there next.

I placed the dvd in again and its just spinning, I am running windows 7 and hopefully I can figure this out. Okay got it loaded up, I right clicked after openeing the disk and ran as admin, then it eventually loaded. Can I register the game with Battlefront?

I bought this program when it came out and I have since moved to a new machine. When I load the disk into the computer, it doesn't allow me to install the game. I went to my store page and it looks like my earliest download was from January, 2010. I know I purchased the game earlier and I am not sure of what to do next. I would like to install and I only used one installation of the program ever.

I went to the standard mode but for some reason I have not immersed myself into this game like I did when I received the cmbb game. I also have Normandy but for some reason I choose not to play. Something is just missing with the game and I can't pin it down. I liked the LOS tool in CMBB but it's not as easy to do it on these games, unless I am missing something.

I noticed that when I use the RTS mode, page 12 that the menus come up on the screen which is nice and I don't have to use the keyboard. The standard mode doesn't allow you to have the menus on the screen? Sort of like CM1? I still ended up using the keyboard I have to figure out what I like best. I sort of liked the way we had it in cm1. By the way, do you guys keep any of the aides on the screen like movement arrows etc?

I was wondering if someone could explain in basic terms the FPS aspect of the game. I had it on FPS in the options and started a scenario but didn't notice anything different. I'll look around some more to see what its all about. Thanks for your help

I received the hard copy of the disk today along with two manuals, Thanks Battlefront for the material. I guess my question is - What is the difference between the two? Thanks
