  1. Ah...the member numbers are for these forums as a whole, and not just the SC forum. Makes sense of course, but I hadn’t thought of that explanation as to why all of our SC crew had high member numbers (though I too bought CM first and joined the forum for it, it was still recently).
  2. JerseyJohn, oh my. Let me clarify a couple of points. It was June 1941, not August, in the game situation I described above. And when I returned to the game after work yesterday, the USSR’s percentage, though still at 50% (of course), shot up very quickly every turn, until they had joined the war by August ’41. So the situation went from looking very unusual to something standard.
  3. JerseyJohn—do you know the equivalent German-language expression for the term ‘penny packets?’ I could use this. Thanks.
  4. Is it inevitable that the USSR enters the war? In my current game (vs. the AI of course) I am in August 1941 and France is still holding back Germany. I am using every Allied resource to defend France; as the Allies, I invaded the Lows. The USSR is steady at 50% and the US only at 4% (or was it 6%?). For a while the US was at -6%, and I wondered: if I went on a rampage as the Allies, invading several neutrals, could I drive the US to -100%, and make the Americans join the Axis? And another thing I never heard answered: will the AI Axis ever Sea Lion? Everyone here that posted said they’d never seen it happen, and I guess that’s all the evidence that we have available, but my impression is that the theoretical question remains open. I might see it happen in this game if France falls, because Britain is sacrificing everything to defend the continent.
  5. Seawolf, how is your ’39 campaign modded? I am curious to see a game in which the US joins before the USSR.
  6. In the strength_sprite.bmp file, what are the nationalities, in order? For example, from top to bottom, Britain is first, then France, then...the US? The light green is the US and the pale red is the USSR? Could someone please list these in order from top to bottom? I am trying to mod these graphics. Thanks.
  7. My impression, from reading this board, is that there are many people who play SC online. If you get the game, you should easily find opponents.
  8. This has been a problem for me. Maybe Third Reich trained me to think Malta is more important than it really is in SC, but I like to make it Axis. To "surround and pound" is orthodox. To just "conquer Britain" is a different task.
  9. No one needs morals, but Clinton has more compassion, kindness, and love in his heart than Bush is capable of.
