From my limited experience I can tell you these things have a way of ballooning out of control and I am going to assume that they are not in a position to hire tons of new people for crunch time etc. At the end of the day I don't get impatience, just buy it when it is out (or don't, if it looks crap) and until then play something else.

    Ad nauseam...

I would not call that a "bone" since we have already seen it.  Good stuff though...

Yes, but I agree that it is nothing new. What I want is more news about the coming module, new screenshots and an update on the progress made. And I don't want to hear everybody is working on the scenarios and campaigns, because as Frederic the Great would say that's not more than their verdammte Pflicht und Schuldigkeit (damned duty and guilt). For God's sake, it's December and we're still kept in the dark. What are you afraid of, BF, that the Chinese steal your module, make a copy of it and release it before you can? Is all this secrecy really necessary? Just finally release this module and do it without pre-ordering as a gesture towards those who waited for so long. Or are you indeed as Rocketman suggested planning to release CMRT and this module on Steam and is that the reason for all the endless delay?

Yeah. It wasn't a pre-planned screenshot. I was playing a campaign battle and this guy pooped up. I thought "I can't remember if we'd been able to show Volks yet. Let me put one up just in case." When the real official gallery shots are assembled there will be a better one. 🙂

You meant well, that's what counts. 🙂

  4. One of the books I would try to rescue out of a burning house is The Panther Battalion Brandenburg and it's prehistory as I./PzRgt.26 1944-1945 by Wolfgang Ockert and Axel Urbanke published by Luftfahrtverlag Start. For anyone who's planning to make a scenario on Cherkassy, Budapest, the Oder Front or the Halbe Pocket this book is a treasure trove. Excellent maps, extremely well researched text and lots of great pictures. A must have for every Ostfronter.

Yeah...it sounds like it will be a very nice resorce for scenariodesign.

The positive comments about the book makes me very exited about it...🙂

I will comment on it once i get my hands on it....it is somewhat pricy but well worth it it seems

I would recommend to buy it in combination with Panzers in Berlin 1945, another excellent book.

Yes me too I think.  Although they have had a lot of my support on earlier Il2 stuff over the years, I would of course like them to continue with tanks.

Did you watch the movies about the Prochorovka campaign on youtube? Makes you feel like you're there.

I've been playing Tank Crew since it was in pre release, and it does have AT guns, artillery pieces, (you can't call for fire though), HT mounted infantry, MGs, 2 campaigns, (Kursk from both sides) that have 10 missions apiece, and air support. It's the best WWII tank sim since Panzer Elite IMHO.

Good to hear. Those people don't mess around. If they make a game, they make a good one. I remember Panzer Elite. Together with Panzer Commander it was great fun.

I have tried Tank Crew, you get detailed tank models, can man different crew stations and it can be played in VR. It is cool to play.

note however that it has a totally different focus than CM, there is no infantry, artillery, support units, other vehicles like you have in CM, so you can’t model actual combined arms battles as in CM, just tank vs tank combat.

Nothing can compare to CM in complexity and completness, that's for sure. But Tank Crew looks like an excellent addition.

Thanks.  Who needs pesky infantry trying to knock you out as well as enemy tanks and planes anyway 😉.

I would have thought AT guns could be included more easily if they aren't already?

It's a start. And it looks like a damned good one. To support them I'm going to buy it. I'm pretty sure this game will become a classic. And it does contain planes, I've noticed.

Yes, it is a diferent game, but as Bulletpoint pointed out, this is the first decent WW2 tank sim ever. Lot of tank sims, but all buggy and abandoned after a while. These guys however will finish what they start and will probably add lots of new features, tanks, maps etc.

Thanks for the heads up... looks interesting. I always wondered why nobody made a good WW2 tank simulator. This might be it.

I think it is. It is part of IL-2 GREAT BATTLES SERIES and those games are very well made and realistic. And they release new stuff on a regular basis.

Last I heard was the date below, but I imagine that was just  @BFCElvis deflecting the question 😉 (and who would blame him?):

I would. I didn't ask for an exact release date, just an update on the progress and an expected period of release. Steve announced that the module will definitely be released this year, so answering my question shouldn't be too hard. Telling us that work on the scenarios and campaigns is progressing is hardly information in my opinion.

But hey, a new ww2 tank sim has appeared, called Tank Crew, that will keep us busy this winter.

At that stage of the war I would imagine with a lot of trepidation and no expectation of success?

Those Pz IIIs look straight from the factory, with no camo scheme and not even any markings 😉.  I think however that they stopped making Pz IIIs in 1943 so there's probably another good reason for this...

Pz III's were still in service in 1944. Mostly observation and command vehicles.

    I found division's journal: https://pamyat-naroda.ru/documents/view/?id=130019938

On page 4 is table with personell numbers. Division had 7500 men. (Note that it was reinforced division, that was moved from reserve.)  That's why so narrow front. On 1.2.45 division had 6100 men. Page 25 - maps.

The Soviets usually forced anyone into service they could lay their hands on, so their units were (much) stronger than reported.
