  1. Hi there, I spent the last 40 minutes carefully approaching the town in the above QB map. After taking the first victory location and then proceeding towards the second and last obective I still didn´t make contact with the enemy. After a ceasefire I found the German troops idly sitting in a field behing the town facing the map edge (away from me and the last objective). Parameters Assault Attacker US (manual force selection) Defender Luftwaffe (automatic purchase) 1 hour time limit. I can provide all other details plus save game if necessary. Feedback would be appreciated. Cheers Nolloff
  2. Paper Tiger, first of all: Thanks for this awesome campaign. I haven´t finished it yet but the individual scenarios I´ve played so far have been superb. Somehow you manage to create a rare atmosphere of total suspense and I love the freedom of having multiple possibilities how to approach possible enemy positions. Having the scenarios in a standalone version would be absolutely fantastic. Cheers Nolloff
  3. Understood. See my edited message above. Thanks for your help!
  4. I made tests with the "Fast" and "Quick" command and the results are consistent with what I´m seeing here when taking into account that the AI turns my "Quick" command into "Fast" when the unit comes under fire. 100 - 120m "Fast" gets a unit from "Rested" to "Tiring". The switch to "Tiring" happens at the end of the turn, "Ready" which is in between "Rested" and "Tiring" is not displayed at all during the replay. Sorry for the false alarm and waste of time, bits and bytes.
  5. I made some further tests and am able to reproduce the behaviour. One of my infantry squads goes from status "Rested" to "Tiring" within 1 second of the WEGO replay. Commands: Quick Move Command, approximately 40m forward, open, flat ground. At ..35 seconds of the replay the Squadleader gets hit. The Squad keeps running forward, the leader stays behind (wounded). The squad runs forward until ..05 of the turn, hits the ground and switches directly from "Rested" to "Tiring" from second .01 to .00. Could it be that the leader is considered "crawling" and therefore slow and his exhausted status 30 seconds later is then considered the status of the whole squad (just trying to find an explanation). I can provide a savegame of the replay if a tester wants to have a look at it.
  6. Thanks for your quick replies. I tried to reproduce the behaviour without success. My movement orders might have been too close to difficult terrain.
  7. Hello there, I´m currently playing the Courage and Fortitude campaign (2nd iteration of the fearsome bridge scenario) and have to do something at which I´ve always been very bad in CM - crossing a lot of open ground. I know ... supressive fire, smoke, etc. etc. I´m moving my infantry squads with the Quick command. They all start rested. I hardly ever let them quick-move more than the distance which can get covered in a minute (e.g. WEGO turn) and then (if possible) leave them in position for a turn. When the Germans cause the first casualties (1 or 2 men per Squad) which happens quickly after I start moving my troops the whole squad goes from Ready or Rested to Tired during one turn. While I´d be fine with a morale effect I don´t quite understand the immediate physical effect. They´re not really carrying their wounded around on stretchers or whatever. Any thoughts, similar experiences? I´ve searched the forum and the manual but haven´t found anything that explains a relationship between casualties and physical condition of the rest of the unit so I´m sorry if this has been brought up and discussed elsewhere. Cheers Nolloff
  8. Thanks Hev, I went straight for the Airbase HQ and ... The other route looks a bit more promising. Regards Nolloff
  9. Zipuli or anyone else who has played the second scenario, as I´m currently ending up in a deadly crossfire when entering the town in the second scenario, could you be a little more specific how you approach this situation? I take out the bunkers/MGs first, move an infantry squad from the bunkers into the first multi-storey house on each side of the street. My squads clear the houses of insurgenst but then the next move usually is bloody and a total mess. My Strykers receive RPG fire, my infantry gets mown down when trying to leapfrog to the next buildings and I´m more or less clueless what a realistic and good strategy could look like.. Thanks in advance Nolloff
  10. Same here as what Lars has reported. No odd graphical glitches, it just freezes on me and I can´t see a pattern or even provoke it. Edit: Lowered Options for 3D Model Quality and 3D Texture Quality from Better to Improved and had teleporting units during the second turn. On "Better" I haven´t seen this happening before. It rarely if ever happens in the short Training Campaign games but when I try to play the first scenario of the "real" campaign I´ve not yet been able to complete it without a freeze. My system: AMD Athlon 64 Dual Core 4200+ NVidia GeForce 7800 GTX 1 Gig RAM Windows XP Home Drivers are up-to-date, applied the AMD Dual Core patch mentioned in the other threads. thread. 11. Madmatt, thanks for your help, that did the trick. For a second I thought about putting that other number in but then changed my mind as the field seemed to be far too short. Thank you again and greetings from Munich. Nolloff
  12. Hi, approximately 10 hours earlier today I pre-ordered Shock Force and have now successfully downloaded it. When I try to license the game I get an error message (error code 501) telling me that either my Order ID is incorrect or the Order ID has not been registered in the license database yet. I believe I haven´t made a mistake with my order ID as I have copied and pasted it from the confirmation email and tried several times to license the game so I assume it´s the second reason. Any info on when my Order ID should be registered? Thanks in advance Nolloff
