  1. I would like to get a discussion going on the amount of points a log pack should be for resuppling units. For my up coming CPX “Into the Fire” I will have the conceptual supply points set at 0 and have the players rely on the use of Logistics Package for resupply of ammo. The units will have their basic load at the start of the battle. I also know that to use the log packs your unit must be located within 200 meters. My question is how much should the Log Packs percentage points should be? I know that the max percentage is 30,000 supply points. And the default is set for 5,000 supply points. I don’t want the log pack to have too much points or too little for it to be of any use. All units have at least 50% ammo levels. For this example, I’m using the LAV25 IFV. 1xAPC, LAV25 IFV, Cannon 25mm, 650 rounds, 100% MG 7.62mm Coax, 1000 rounds, 100% MG 7.62mm, 1600 rounds, 100% Rifle 5.56mm M16, 900 rounds, 100% In the TacOps Unit Wpns DB 030525b Excel spreadsheet, to resupply a Cannon 25mm with 100 rounds it will take 20 points, which for 650 rounds will take about 135 supply points from the log pack and for the MG 7.62mm Coax it states that it will take 1 point for 100 rounds, so to resupply for 1000 rounds it will take 10 supply points. For the MG 7.62mm it will take 1 point for 100 rounds so again to resupply for 1000 rounds it will take 10 supply points. And for the Rifle 5.56mm M16 it will also take 1 point for 100 rounds and again to resupply for 1000 rounds it will take 10 supply points. Now to add all that up it will be 165 supply points just for 1xAPC, LAV25 IFV Is this how it has to be done? Is there an easier way of doing this? Do I have to go and calculate for all the units in one Company, one Battalion and up to set the log packs? Again I don’t want to set it to the max, for that would give the impression of unlimited ammo. And don’t want to set it too low for the unit to not be able to fight. Would the points be different by how the log packs are being transported as well? Would the log pack be set at 30,000 points if it is being lifted by a helicopter or a truck? Or if the log packs are being transported that the log pack can only be for a certain amount of supply points? Has anybody come up with a spreadsheet or a formula for how many supply points it will take to resupply different types of units? Or for that matter the vehicles or troops them selves instead of each individual weapon. John Osborne
  2. I notice that you used map130c Was there anything that need to be reworked for the map? John
  3. I'm looking for any info on maps, OOBs, anything that deals with Operation Battleaxe (14th - 17th June 1941). I know that it involves the 7th Armored Division (Desert Rats), 4th Indian Division against the 5.leichte-Division and the 15.Panzer-Division. I'm looking for any maps that shows what type of terrain and what the Beau Geste style Fort Capuzzo may have looked like during 1941. I want to make a scenario on the battle that took place on 16 June with the Panzer-Regiment 8. They were ordered to take the Fort once more, but this time with both Abteilungen combined against the 7th RTR and the 4th Indian Div. Any information would help alot. Please email me any information josborn110@earthlink.net
  4. Ok, let me make it simple now I'm looking for any maps that shows what type of terrain and what the Beau Geste style Fort Capuzzo may have looked like during 1941. 5. von Lucke, for some reason the scenario at the Drpot will not allow anyone to dl it. As for the scenario "Hafid Ridge" that is but one of many battles that took place during "Operation Battleaxe". There was the battle at "Hellfire Pass" The 15.Panzer-Division did a counter attacked at Fort Capuzzo. Also the 5.leichte-Division made a hook around the British flank in an effort to reach the Halfaya Pass and to try and cut off the 7th Armored Division and the 4th Indian Division from supple convoys and to keep them from escaping back down the escarpment. Plus some small battles that I wont mention right now. ---John
  6. You know I was expecting that type of a response. So I'm going to let it go [ December 31, 2003, 05:24 PM: Message edited by: John Osborne ]

  8. I have to agree. It seems that when my vehicles get bogged down. I do a reverse and then move at normal speed it moves out of the bog at the next turn. Maybe I've just been lucky all the time. Some times they stay bogged through out the entire battle. Also (sound of pages turning in the dictionary) what is unbogged? Is that a new word
  9. I'm quoting Rune "The biggest problem with scenario design is no matter what you do, someone will like and someone will hate a scenario". I would like to give it a shot on making an Op scenario. The question I have is where can I go to ask questions without getting my head twisted off? Is there anybody I can get in contact with? Is there a web page that can answer my questions. Also I find playing Op scenarios to be fun. I'm playing "Descent on Maleme" because I found this site and got me interest on the battles in Crete http://www.crete-1941.org.uk/ ---John
  10. I have it in Excel format that I can send to you, Redwolf.
  11. Thanks, Guys for the reply. Alot of very good info. Now I need to put it in use in the battle fields. And will post from my upcoming battle with the Tank Hunters and Tank Destroyers. ---John
  12. I would like to know what is the proper way of using the Tank Hunters and Tank Destroyer vehicles in a battle? And where can I find information that I may need in the future for questions such as these. Any information is appreciated. ---John [ December 14, 2003, 09:18 AM: Message edited by: John Osborne ]
  13. Hi BigCat, Is there any chance in the works for a CMAK campaign using CMAK as game engine? Or do you know of anybody who is working on one.
