  1. If I were in the Russians' shoes and I found remains belonging to those who came to my homeland in a crusade to kill tens of millions of my people and then turn the rest into slaves, I'd want to erase them. Let their descendants never know their resting place. In fact, I'd be very tempted to feed the remains into a creamatorium to obliterate them. I certainly wouldn't let them be re-buried within the boundaries of my nation. Of course, I am not a Russian. When I talked to one who was here working as a programmer, he told me that he didn't hold it against them. He figured that they were just ordinary human beings caught up in the war who didn't have much of a choice in the matter.
  2. Why would PayPal have anything at all to do with my issues since I didn't use it to pay for the game?
  3. Yesterday, I purchased the Assault on Communism\Democracy combo and downloaded it. When I tried to activate both games, I was prompted for a serial number. My first comment is that it shouldn't be that hard to change the text to add something like " or License Key" in order to avoid any confusion. Well, I still hadn't received any email yet from Battlefront. That didn't arrive for about another two hours. I wonder why it took so long to get it to me because it usually takes a lot less time. At least, that's the way it worked for me in the past. I was finally able to find the license key online in the order section and so I tried that but it was rejected. After I received the email, I copied the key from there and then it got rejected again when I tried to activate the games. Two hours later I tried it again just because I really wanted to play these games. I used the same license key that I had done a CTRL-C on previously and this time it worked! And so, I'm wondering if there's been some kind of hiccup in your sales system. Has anyone else recently had these kinds of problems with downloading games?
  4. I too enjoyed Clash of Steel and regretted that it never had the chance to get even better because one of the main designers died at an early age. As wargamers, we should be grateful for all that Hubert has done to make SC such a great game.
  5. If you're like me and you don't spend all your time playing SC2, then you're probably going to have some "stupid" questions that you need the answers for, but you're too embarassed to ask anyone. Well, hopefully, this discussion thread will be for you. Here's my "stupid" question. How do I keep the Axis from declaring war on the United States? It's hard enough to beat Russia and then all of a sudden without my even being asked about it, the message pops up that I've declared war on the U.S. Needless to say, my plans are now totally messed up and it's only a matter of time before I get smeared.
  6. I second the motion for a new grand strategic game on the American Civil War. As the direct descendant of a Union soldier who died during the conflict, I have a strong interest in the history of those years. However, I think it would be a difficult game to put together since any competent armchair general would be able to mop up the Confederacy. Grant showed that the troops, equipment and supplies were sufficient to get the job done. What was lacking were Generals worthy of their armies.
  7. I understand that the demo is not the full game, but I'm disappointed in the visuals. The old map and overhead perspective of SC1 was far easier to work with in terms of playing the game instead of this 45 degree prespective. Plus, one could play SC in a lower resolution which may not mean much to young whippersnappers, but is important to older gamers. From my perspective, the "eye candy" of the new map and graphics adds little to the game and actually gets in the way. I wish there was an option that would allow you to go back to a SC1 view.
  8. Thank you for putting this change into SC2! I'll be able to move to the sounds of the Moody Blues while marching on Moscow!
  9. As someone who enjoys listening to CDs and the like while playing SC, I hope that SC2 will give players an option to turn off ALL sounds including special effects like the 'click' sound when you select a unit.
  10. I enjoy playing SC while playing music on my PC. How do I turn off the incidental sounds like the 'click' when one selects a unit?
  11. Folks, don't you know that the IHR is a holocaust revisionism site? I wouldn't take seriously anything they say. [ July 28, 2002, 08:10 PM: Message edited by: Dave G. ]
