Some Tactical Advice, Please!
zukkov replied to Sabot6's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
will the heroic allied tanks hold their ground and knock out that pesky feline?? or will the cat pounce on the 2 hapless fools and be licking his chops when the smoke clears?? stay tuned next week cat fans! same cat time, same cat channel! -
yet another issue which has been much discussed. not sure if there's a work around for it.

i think there's still spotting issues in the game engine. by the way, is your name taken from steve mcqueen's character in the great escape?

AAR: Battle for the Niscemi Highway

must be a 3rd party project. bfc is too small to spread itself so thin to work on 2 major projects at the same time. -

i suppose they could be covered up by the gazillion units on the map, but i don't see any tanks. did canadian infantry not have tanks in their divisions?

i can tell you one thing though. some of those guys went up in rank quick. one guy i worked with joined sometime in 42 and in less than 2 years he was a 1st sgt. i know it was true because he brought his records to work one day. dad also joined in late 42 and said he was a 1st sgt by the end of the war. then lost 3 stripes after the war. that wasn't a disciplinary action, he said everybody lost 3 stripes. lol..

yah, i was speaking from total ignorance in the ways of artillery except that i know it works. i remember watching a live fire demonstration once on ft. hood. they had mortars mounted on tracks roll up one at a time, fire, then take off again. i swear it took so long for the rounds to land that for awhile i thought they missed the ground. lol.. -

when you think about it, it's pretty fascinating how the hell they managed to get artillery on a target in the first place, much less in a circle or line pattern. -

i think it's time to unleash the u.s. navy before mark capitulates! you're keeping a lot of sailors from being able to tell their grand kids stories about how they defeated the japanese single handed with nothing but a rowboat and a broken paddle! :-p -

reading this aar is like watching 2 chess masters at work. it's amazing how when your opponent has a great turn, you guys just adjust and continue. very easy to get down at those times and concede. anyway, i don't have the game yet, but i'm wondering what the victory conditions are. do the allies have to take berlin, tokyo, and rome for to win? -

is that the "hold until relieved" scenario? and just when it looks like the germans are going to recapture the bridge, peter lawford shows up to save the day?
