Well, the toggle IS micro managment. We already have quite a bit of it but BFC have, iirc, stated they are wary of going much futher down that road. As I said befor, personally, I'd love to see a Steel Panthers like toggling of weapon systems, squad/team members weapons on and off. Couple that with an expanded arc system like kinophile suggests would be even more to my taste. But I have my doubts that BFC want to go much futher down the micro managment path regarding this. They have to draw the line somewere befor the feature creep overwealms them.

As someone posted elsewere, I'd not mind if we got the ability to thoggle the use of gun or missile or leave it to AI as now ala Steel Panthers. But I suspect that is starting to slip down the micro managment sloop that BFC wants to avoid.

Yeah I poked around a bit since wikipedia (i know, i know, dont Gibbs slap me!) put mentioned new vehicles as replacments for the BMD-series too, which made me go " Yeah REALLY?!?" right away. But since VDV kind of is the crème de la crème of the Russian forces I was curious if they had some other new vehicle inbound. I guess the BMD-4M is a more realistic modernazation path then most other things in the "plans".

Have there been any news about something new for the VDV? Both the Kurganets-25 and Armata T-15 are twice or more the weight of the BMD series and seem unsuited for air deployment.

That conclusion about russian squad cohesion stemed from 2 individuals tale when they came back to their own lines? That seems like shaky source to say the least, concidering peoples tendency to exagerate things happening under pressure or even "fishing story-tales" to look good/cool. It is interesting to read but the wording in the end conclusion just shot any believability out of the water for me.
