1. It seems that BTS and KwazyDog are hiding behind their evil thread locking device. Instead of acting like a "real man" and answering the following questions: 1) What steps have been taken to rectify the problems; and 2) Will a Webpage be created to keep people informed. Obviously, there is a hardware/software conflict, so let's get it fixed. Thx, L
 2. Well it has been 24 hours since the thread started and BTS still has not come out with a statement about anything !! Seems that those of you who follow your CM leaders so blindly have had an eye opening experience. THEY DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOU ! I believe this is what BTS is really thinking: "Just send us your money like a bunch of sheeple. It doesn't matter if the CM software works, as long as we have your money ! We are big now, we don't care about our customers anymore, bye suckers!"
 3. I find it sad that BTS has not posted one response to this discussion. My direct question to BTS is as follows: What has BTS done to combat the CM/XP/Nividia conflict problem ?? If BTS does not respond, I believe they just do not care !! Regards, Linda
 4. Problem 1: Combat Mission 1 and 2 will not work under Windows XP if you have a Nividia video card. Therefore, you have this configuration do not buy Combat Mission 2...IT WON'T WORK !! Bye
 5. I did the right thing and uninstalled CM1. It may be a driver problem, but XP beta has been out for several months and XP oem for a month so BTS has to accept some of the responsibility for this crime ! I will not be buying CM2 until I know for a fact the problem has been resolved. Trust me, more posts like this are going to fill up this webboard as more pissed off people start posting ! Regards,
quote:
Originally posted by Doug Williams: Schrullenhaft, What you say is true, and good advice, but don't err on the side of thinking it's a minor problem. I found it very annoying. Enough to ruin my enjoyment of the game and make me uninstall XP.

 6. Hello Doug, You hit the nail on the head. Greater than > 50% of endusers use Nividia Greater than > 50% of enduser use Windows and I am being conservative ! So, it is in fact extremely important. If I was using XP & Nividia and bought CM2 I would be demanding my money back ! In other words, if CM2 is released tomorrow without a fix, there are going to be plenty of pissed newbies posting on this webboard. Regards -------
quote:
Originally posted by Doug Williams: This problem has been discussed in several threads in the Tech Support forum. I believe it is a driver issue with the Nvidia cards. Nvidia is aware of the issue and, hopefully, will fix the problem with a driver update. Oh, and BTW, it's not just an XP problem, it's also a problem with Windows 2000. It's not that the game won't run. The problem seems to be that the color white becomes transparant on the 2d screens, making such things as reading the mission briefing and unit selection in a QB difficult, if not impossible. It's a serious issue that BTS should be concerned about, given the popularity of the GeForce video cards and the fact that Windows XP has gotten very positive reviews. In a year's time, there will be many Windows XP users...

 7. You may not be aware that CM1 will not run under WindowsXP if you have a Nividia GeForce Video card. To the best of my knowledge BTS never posted any notice on the Internet or by email that this is the case. In other words, those of us with this configuration cannot play CM1 and are left to run around the Internet like chickens with their heads cut-off trying to find out what the heck is wrong with our systems. I will not buy CM2 until the CM1 problem is resolved ! I already have one version of CM I cannot use, why do I need two ? Regards, Linda
 8. Hello Schrullenhaft, Thx for your timely response. I would like the owners of BTS/CM to create a webpage outlining the problems with Nividia/XP/CM as follows: 1) What are the problems; 2) How to fix the problems; 3) What CM has done to rectify the problems; and 4) Their recommendation Nividia/XP/CM upgrades. I wouldn't have purchased XP right away if I knew there were problems. I figured BTS and Nividia would have got ahold of a copy of XP and got everything working before the release date and had there script built into the XP CD Rom ! Could someone forward this to the BTS owners I do not know their email addresses and they do not seem to post here much. Thx
 9. Setup: 1.3 AMD CPU 512 mgs ram ASUS mother board ASUS 7700 with 32 mgs ram Nvidia v21.83 drivers loaded The problems I am having is running CM v1.12 under WindowsXP are as follows: 1) I cannot find the proper resolution for CM to fill the screen, the screen is not being fully utilized. When I originally loaded CM under WIN98 it adjusted automatically; 2) The letters on the control panel at the bottom of the screen and the short cut panel for plotting moves flicker and sometimes change colours; and 3) After the turn is done, the save file name field is blank and I cannot type text in, so the file saves under the file name as originally loaded. In the end, who takes responsibility to ensure CM runs under XP properly ? Is it Microsoft, ASUS, Nividia, AMD or BTS ?? I do not know what the problem is so I do not know where to turn to fix it ?! An opinion from BTS technical support is required. Thank you in advance for your response.
