Hello, years ago I used to use the proving grounds to find live chat room opponents. That was a great system but it does not seem to be utilised these days. Are there any other chat rooms out there that are well frequented by players looking for opponents ? This method is so much quicker than posting threads looking for opponents. thanks

HI guys, I have just come back to CM after a very long break. I must admit I am very sad to see the new WW2 CM is still not ready after so many years, and probably wont be for at least another couple of years. Sorry, but Mid-east fictional and Afghanistan war gaming just does not do it for me in the least. Anyway, I cannot get The Proving Grounds chat to work. I have tried on multiple computers. Is it still working ? It used to be great for finding opponents quickly. Also, where is the next place to go on the web to find opponents using a chat system ? Thanks for any help.

I cannot run the Proving Grounds chat application. I simply get an error message eg. Application cannot run and a blank black box. I have downloaded the latest version Java and am running Windows 7 Home Premium. Thanks for any suggestions. Also, I am simply trying to find opponents for live games of Combat Mission 1. Where is the best place to find people ? Thanks

Hello, any idea when the next generation combat mission WW2 will be released ? Is it being worked on now ? I have been dreaming of the day for many years now. Sorry, but the modern day, mid-east combat mission was never meant for me.

hallelujiah !! after the bitter dissapointment of Theatre of War, and then the utter boredom of modern fictional combat in Shock Force, I am once again rejoicing that WW2 is to be redone. Guys, I would have gladly paid triple what you wanted for an updated WW2 combat mission years ago. I dont know how much profit you made from Shock Force, but if you multiply that by ten, then I reckon that is how much you will get when the new WW2 CM is released. Supply and demand - the demand has always been overwhelmingly for a new WW2 CM.

ahhrgggggh ! NO TCP/IP WEGO !!!! Battlefront had a winning forumla with the CM series. It netted them huge bucks. SO WHY GO CHANGE IT !!! What is this fascination with hideous real time play that some people have. Impossible to play the game properly and enjoy it at the same time. I HATE clickfests and madly issuing orders just to keep up with things.

I think BF is saving the WW2 CMx2 for their big finale. Sales on that game are going to make them all millionaires overnight ! Bring it on.

is the copy protection going to be the same as with TOW, or will it be something more robust, seeing as how unsuccessful the TOW copy protection was.

totally agree. TOW might be a good game if the scenarios and number of units in each game were a LOT smaller/less. Then you could actually control the game properly and enjoy it at the same time.

this is the major reason why so many CM fans were not happy. It is impossible to play the game properly and "enjoy" the action at the same time. With CM you can do that.

Combat Mission is the grandmaster of all wargames. Full kudos to BF for that legacy. Compared to CM, TOW is the little kid cousin wearing a trendy homeboy outfit. He looks cool, but he cant sing for shi#

I heard they were only posted a few days ago. What on earth is with that ? They should have been posted on the day of release. It really is not the way to keep customers happy.

where do I go to unlicense my game ? I have uninstalled it and it no longer resides on my computer, but I now also want to unlicence. thanks for any help.
