1. Is he reffering to a mod? (i.e. his mention of a front line...(Snicker) [ 07-23-2001: Message edited by: Fieldmarshall ]
 2. Aitken--were is your rational!? Listen it is a VIDEO GAME after all the realisme, the graphics, in the end it all boils down to a VIDEO GAME--I dont think I have to repeat myself--war veterans play this game--I doubt a red spot on a soldier is going to make them get up a sue the damn company over a SPOT! I love to build WW II models, if I make a diorama of a shot up soldier--am I being disrespectful..NO! I am showing the true face of war! Is SPR disrespectful because it shows the realitys of war(well not all but still) No, it takes no respect out of the game, if you put in a little blood, If you think about it--when a sqaud gets burned to death from a flamer even in CM its pretty grusome, so no you are wrong--the only disrespect would come if it was to model the gore for a sales purpose or to make fun of those who fought in World War II, so no, they would in no way be disrespectful. -Field
 3. Rationality is bleeding away apparently, David get a grip...ITS A BLOODY DAMN MOD!!!!,I am surprised this post has gotten the response it has...most of it mindless bickering, that is both un-necessary but also totaly ridiculous..so what, ok we all now know the answere to Tigers question..no, it is unlikely that BTS will model this, but they have wasted time, (e.g. Sturmtiger) it was a request, like so many others will not happen, ok, big deal its over, now why does it have to explode into a inane argument over MARKERS for gods sake, there should not be an argument, and even if there was one, it could be handeled in a frank, and rational manner, not a bunch of slobbering blabber mouthes just wanting to get their bloody names on the internet, this discussion should have ended by now, yes. So what?! So he wants dead body with blood markers, It doesnt matter if he wanted to replace it with blood...ITS HIS BUSINESS, and it has been answered, Good day to you all. -Fieldmarshall [ 07-22-2001: Message edited by: Fieldmarshall ]
 4.
quote:
Originally posted by gunnergoz: The issue of KIA bitmaps is actually a wimpy solution for the jaded CM player looking to add a more authentic feel to the gaming experience. If one wants to "spiff up" the suspension of disbelief with CM, all one need do is as follows, prior to and during play: -put a dead animal behind the desk and let it ripen for a few days -urinate in the other corner -fail to shower for a week -pick fleas and ticks off of neighborhood animals and let them loose into a close-knit woolen shirt which one then wears -go without food and sleep for several days in a row -stand in the middle of the freeway and run willy-nilly in front of the moving traffic (this gets the adrenaline into the appropriate level) -invite a serial killer to live in the home, leave the doors unlocked and wait around unarmed to see what he'll do next (builds up tension and fear) -Turn the air conditioner on to freezing for several days, then full heat for several more, being sure to leave the oven and stove lit and burning and all windows shut -back a diesel bus into the garage and leave it running with the exhaust piped into the home Once the above "mods" have been installed into your lifestyle, you'll care less about little blood splatters on your deceased digital troops.

That is quite a life you lead.
 5.
quote:
Originally posted by David Aitken: You are mistaken – he was requesting that BTS program the ability of eliminated unit markers to be modified with unique textures. I think he's been around quite long enough, and had enough experience, to know whether or not it's possible. You sound more like you're "blowing your top" than anyone here. I might suggest you check your facts before you jump in with such an incoherent ramble.

I will bloody well ramble all I want its my god given right to ramble just like it is yours, god knows you exercise it enough.... -Field
 6. Listen most of you are blowing your tops for no reason..mods are fun..they have made(at least for me) CM a much neater game..I was for a long time(half the time I owned the game) determined never to get Terrain mods(I thought it might ruin the traditionality of the game) well I was wrong it made the game cooler, that is my opinion..if Tiger wants to or wants to know if he can make a dead body mod, because he thinks it will make the game better, and more entertaining for him..then let him, what business of it is yours..he just wanted to know if he could, not why he shouldnt or how he should do it if he could, just answere the mans question, dont berate him, his mods are his business, and if he wants to post them its your own business to download them, if you dont like it, dont harass the man, just ignore the damn mod SHEESH!!! -Fieldmarshall

 9. Yesterday I bought a 1/35 scale DML Maus, (Dont know why I havent finished my StuG IV yet but who cares) probably bought it on an impulse..but I also bought a pamphlet to boot, and it said that two Maus tanks were rumored to be seen fighting at Berlin in 1945. I just want to know if anyone has any hard evidence to back this up...(if it does turn out to be true I hope BTS will consider putting in a Maus..but I dont really care)And if they did, how would they calculate the two barrels, the main gun and the 75mm.(on the same turret next to each other.) -Fieldmarshall [ 07-22-2001: Message edited by: Fieldmarshall ] [ 07-22-2001: Message edited by: Fieldmarshall ]
 10. Sorry to disapoint you but I am not Rob/1 who ever he is I am not him...

 12.
quote:
Originally posted by Bad Ju Ju: Balls indeed, and for how much money? It's not like Hitler's ego manifesto has been featured recently on Oprah's book club. Anyone know how many copies have been sold, following the war?

Infact Mein Kampf is the third bestselling book in history...the Bible is first..but sales blew in the 30s and went higher in the 50s-60s
 13.
quote:
Originally posted by Scipio: Allow me to add something. The German Bundeswehr uses the nearly identical MG-3. A Heavy MG is the gun, a tripod and a lot of ammo, and it's is intended as a stationary defense weapon. No, you can NOT run with it. The light MG-3 (it's the same weapon, but without the heavy tripod) is for combat support. It's the gun, a second barrel and the ammo. With the gun on the shoulder, a ammo case in the left hand and some ammo belts around the neck it's possible to run. I was allowed to test it for several times. It's possible, even when you wear your gas mask. Of course you don't make a marathon with it, but I guess it can be compared with a running Bazooka team...100m, then it looses a lot of fun.

Yeah--my combat guns book has that in it, the Germans use it..it isnt exaxctly the same..it has a more reliable feeder..and a better cooling system..and is a little lighter than the MG 1942
 14. sigh....if it has POENG in it, it is sure to cause trouble... [ 07-21-2001: Message edited by: Fieldmarshall ]
 15.
quote:
Originally posted by Panzerman: Thats a good idea... you could have men with little red spots in the middle of ther chests.

What if a 300mm rocket lands on the sqaud(happend to me killed the whole squade, the explosion completely engulfed them then when it was all clear..they were all dead..pretty cool) I doubt if that happend you would just have a little red spot..they should have bodies for shot..and little BITS of people if they were blown up.
 16. (I guess your playing Paderborne but who knows) Umm..first things first...NEVER GO HEAD TO HEAD WITH A KING TIGER! if you have one in sight move to its side and fire give off two shots or so then he will have his turret towards you...when this happens MOVE! Fire and run...until you kill one its that simple.
 17. YOU PEOPLE ALL JUST MAKE ME SICK......SICK SICK SICK!!!!!!! AHHHH...I LOVE IT HERE..
 18. Do you know whether CM:B2B will have dragons teeth in it? secondly...are there going to be metal pillbox4es (yes they had them(the Germans) just check out the German Handbook on Military forces, written by the US war department) and third, what about Super Commies!? Just a band of old guys with shovels that run after advancing German troops...and most importantly the MONSTER MAUS will that be put into the fold..if it isnt someone could make a mod from the Sturmtiger. -Fieldmarshall....
 19. Oh not this post again...cant you just go crawl in a hole> And to answere your Question: A HMG team has quite a bit of ammo-extral barrels\the metal boxes the belts of ammo(or Drums if its a MG 34) Also a heavy machine gun has a mounting for the gun a large mounting...here is the light MG Notice the BI-POD: Now the Heavy Machine gun: Notice the large pod it is mounted on..(HEAVY there for slowing the crew down..oh and thanks to the desert rats for the image) -Field LIGHT MACHINE GUN!!! 20.
quote:
Originally posted by Jussi Köhler: I think its an interesting idea... I just think that remaining fuel should be relatively unknown, so that you run dry like after 10-25 turns... It would certainly make the scenarios even more interesting... Should the fuel last longer if the AFV just sits in overwatch position without moving???

Yeah depending on the tank...some of them will guzzel more if the engine sits idle and over heats..
 21. On July 20, 1944 I think it was, the Ploesti oil fields fell to the Russians, now I relize the Germans and their vast industrial --!technology!--- started taking advantage massive German coal reserves and started making synthetic fuel. My question is, like a battle on the Oder front, not all the tanks had enough fuel to keep going, now I was wondering if after feb 1945, you could have in the unit editor (For The GERMANS) a fuel setting for the tanks..like enough fuel for XX amount of turns...wouldnt that be realistic? What do you the people think!? (P.S. checkout my profile photo--got it from Jay leno headlines.) -Fieldmarshall [ 07-19-2001: Message edited by: Fieldmarshall ] [ 07-19-2001: Message edited by: Fieldmarshall ]
