I might be wrong, but isnt the Sherman V the British equivalent of the Jumbo? I seem to remember it having aa ungodly amount of armour up and above the rest of the Shermans. maybe this explains the occasional 88mm ricochet?

Tiger immobilised by .50 cal
Shipmonkey25 replied to Soddball's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Don't feel too bad, I lost a Jagdpanzer IV to a M3 halftrack. Apparently they're vulnerable to 50cal from the rear. -

ASL Vet, the squares are 20 meters, not feet. -
CMBB Modelling contest - Official Thread
Shipmonkey25 replied to Kwazydog's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
KwazyDog, the contest site says your considering multiple paint schemes for most vehicles, will this include a set of '42 bitmaps, when panzer grey was still the standard? -
TIGER Docu on Hist Channel right now

I just thought it was interesting to hear the intervies with the two tank commanders who faced Whitman at Villars-Bocage. -

quote:
Originally posted by Michael Dorosh: Yeah, the lack of a roof makes it a great option for those rainy days...

Look at the other photos. it has a roof. All the ex-Croatian M36s I've seen have the factory installed roof. -
Where did the link to the CMMOS 3 mega update go? I don't seem to be able to see it anywhere on the CMHQ site.

quote:
Originally posted by redwolf hates artillery: In addition to the good advise: - I noted that the Bofors is very easy to spot, even when not firing. I'm not sure why that is. The German AA guns seem especially hard to spot when firing, I guess that spotting probability is connected to the calibre and maybe muzzle flashes/dust

The German AA guns I've seen are not much bigger than a 50cal mg once they're in position. The US Bofors though, are huge by comparison, high profiles.

Is the M4a1 correctly modeled?
Shipmonkey25 replied to Venjra ICQ 2126434's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Just a guess, but the "poorly modelled" 50cal is actually a nice looking M60. -
You might need the explain to your friend the difference between a 105mm antitank gun and a 105mm howitzer, that might be his reason for confusion. He could be thinking of Isreali M50 Shermans with the 105mm high velocity guns.

Tell Me Again How Great the 7/2 Is....
Shipmonkey25 replied to Col Deadmarsh's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
These will die at the sound of 50cal fire, I lost several in a quick battle to 600m 50cal fire. -
The US paratroopers do get RRs in the game, their is a scenerio on the disk where you get two US 57mms and I think their are 75mm available in the scenerio editor.

U.S. Firing Tests Against Captured Tigers
Shipmonkey25 replied to rexford's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Actually, they built the "Jagdpanther" out of a old British APC. [ 11-26-2001: Message edited by: Shipmonkey25 ]
-
So Steve, the IS-3 is in?
-
I've never played that mission, but you might want to check in the mission editor. It's possible that the Tiger showed up as a preplanned reenforcement, which would explain the seemingly magical undetected position.
