What I was asking is if any Syrope mods may still be useful or are you certain they are all completely obsolete now?
I don't currently use any of them and they are in a large folder full of (what else) SYROPE mods.

CM1 had three levels of reinforcements IIRC that were triggered by events: Battalion, Divisional and Corps. The worse your situation, the more higher level reinforcements would arrive. I thought it was an innovative and terrific system and another feature that I was sorry to see dropped for CM2. Am convinced it would have helped CM2.
-
Probably. But, have also seen how while the entry hole may not be that big the surrounding damage does appear very large (esp on exit).
-
Well done with the screenshots. They are all taken at interesting moments and that makes em better than average.
-
ok, understood.
Even though I have been playing as long as you have, I am amazed that I STILL get confused between the different calibres when it's time to resupply via ACQUIRE - esp since I play CMSF, CMA as well as the WW2 CM2 games. Some of the ammos seem very similar but are not the same - esp with sniper rifles etc.

Has BF considered an "all-in advance price" for a particular family of CM products?
Maybe I am alone in this concept, but I would much prefer buying such a package for $150+ which would include hard copies of everything so there is no confusion and worry about whether I should get a hard copies or only the d/l of an update, or a module and burn a safety disk.
Based on someone saying there is no 2.0 manual with the update I bought the d/l version. But now, (I think) Steve said that the 2.0 mailed hard copy does come with a printed manual - which is what I wanted. Or, is that the same manual I received with my hard copy of CMFI??
It's become way too confusing. So, how about a package price for those of us who haven't the time to keep up with all the options?
No one would be forced to buy the package, BF would get a lot more money in advance, and much confusion re what is free and what needs to be paid for would be eliminated.
Doesn't that seem like a win for everyone?

I have CMFI updated to 1.01. (Someone earlier said "one of the CMFI patches" - Is there a 2nd CMFI patch???)
What is the file called that we should copy to CMBN Z folder?
-
Have tried using Aris's FX mods in CMSF and CMA as well, and am pretty sure they work there as well.
-
Your graphics treatment looks stunning.
Was wondering if there some reason you don't put ammo calibre or ranges on the weapons icons? (That's the main reason I use the "other guy's" graphics for the guns etc.)
-
Hope you can take a break after your move, Aris. I read that moving house is as stressful as being in combat. So, good luck!
-
Thank you. Can't play CMSf on my laptop while traveling, but looking forward to playing when I get back.
-
Thanks George...
BTW: I have a large number of "SYROPE" mods I accumulated over the years. Are many of those mods now part of the Eurofication package of files, or are they completely different.
Am really hoping they are being used in the Eurofication package as otherwise I'll have to look through evey darn one to see if they are worth using...
-
I just hope they don't rip out great features of CMSF and replace with worse features... like we had going from CM1 to CM2.
eg: I would still MUCH prefer easy 180 degree arcs to 360; Being able to push wrecks out of the way etc.
-
dpabrams: I hear ya re Syria. But, have been enjoying the Libyan campaign, and am hoping some talented chap may do an Egypt Civil War scenario etc.

When I start CMSF there is no NATO anything in the lower left corner next to USMC and BRITS.
I am traveling and away from that machine right now but am pretty sure there is no CMSF NATO Module.exe in the main game folder or I would have noticed it.
In the old version AVG I could go to the vault and that's where it moved stuff like this to and I could move it back. The new AVG version that was just updated prior to this problem... I can't find any quarantine vault or info as to what it did with the file.
Why it quarantined NATO and neither of the other executables is a mystery. Any help as to what my next step should be would be much appreciated...
Grrr.....

I see I have a few in my folders already, but not most. I usually d/l everything in the repository so am surprised I don't have em. Do you have dates or anything that could help with a search? Thanks...
-
This is superb work. Was wondering regarding your improved Warrior if a version could be made for the original desert Syrian scenarios.
-
Looking forward to those scenarios. Are they in Repository already, or ETA??
-
I have all the original disks (hence my insistence on getting original disks, not just d/ld's heh). Am just hoping there is an easy fix. Maybe AVG quarantined something someplace and all I have to do is put it back.
Reinstallling is scary.

My only concern was to have a DVD as a safety. Someone mentioned that the download is not copyprotected so one can burn it onto a DVD. Is that correct? And there is no printed manual or any other reason to get the disk from BF then?
And thank you for all your xnt work...
-
Yeah, you're right JRMC. I had assumed that anything from BF would be copy protected so I could not burn my own. But, if one can burn the 2.0 upgrade to DVD for safety that's fine. I am happy. (There is no manual or other reason to get the hard copy fo the 2.0 update from BF, correct?)
-
"...we will simply charge everybody $100 per base game and offer 3 or 4 Upgrades at no extra cost."
+2 to that. You get more money upfront and save time and energy from not having to deal with online orders and CC fees etc that add up at later dates. And more satisfied happy customers who have the illusion of getting upgrades for free.
-
Yes JRMC, I want BF to answer my question. Some of us like hard copies. That's why we bought the "metal" can disk holders for CMBN and CMFI.
I just don't want to pay $30 for hard copy and d/l now, only to find that I get a hard copy with the MG game. If that is the case then of course the $10 download is worth it now. However, so far, no one seems to have the definitive answer to this. And BF hasn't responded to the question.

Not sure what happened as everything was ok yesterday.
Then I did a routine AVG update and scan. And today, the game launches, but there is NATO module. I have the game patched to 1.32.
Should I run the NATO installation again, or will that take me back to an earlier patch?
Any other actions?
Thanks...

Got all that, altho' after a recent AVG update, my NATO module seems to have disappeared.
