  1. I'm just throwing out a hypothesis here but if BFC develops an excellent, real-time, RTS game exploring tactics used in the Middle East then it is possible that the US Military-Industrial-Entertainment Complex might be interested in having the talented BFC staff design some missions for training troops headed for such areas. Before you scoff at this hypothesis I seem to remember a few years ago that New Zealand or Australia employed BFC in such a fashion. We all know that the US MIE Complex has a much larger pot o' gold to tap for such services so kudos to BFC for trying to get some of my tax dollars. Good luck!
  2. The only evidence that something is happening is the CMC Beta Forum. There are still daily posts occurring so one has to assume that development is still proceeding. It makes me wonder, though, how these guys are paying their bills with something that has been 3-5 years in development!
  3. That's my boy! I always liked his name so I co-opted it as my avatar. I also thought a name like that would be a good name for a rapper. As for SC2, I regularly think of where the "indirect" approach might be applied to good effect.
  4. Hello all...newly purchased the game and am loving it. Forgive me if this has already been mentioned but as I have been playing I've been reminded of a book by BH Liddell Hart entitled STRATEGY. While this book covers the span of warfare from the ancients to WWII and beyond it would be a perfect companion to playing SC2. In the book Liddell Hart goes over how important battles and wars were won and lost by using the indriect approach (diplomatically and on the battlefield). The scale and at which most battles are discussed harmonizes nicely with SC2. Here is the link: Strategy by Liddell Hart
  5. Thanks to Martin, problem solved. I didn't have the dashes (-) in my license number when I generated the original eLicense. Redid it with the dashes and everything went smoothly.
  6. I've purchased Strategic Command 2 and can't get the f*&king eLicense to work.
  7. I'm thinking carbon monoxide poisoning. Somebody needs to check before it gets too stinky.
  8. I've tried every permuation of copying and pasting info and get this message: Error Occured: Order ID or License Number was not found. Please check the Order ID or License Number and re-create the request. Any fixes? Note: I'd be happy to e-mail the info to anyone at BFC to give it a try! 9. There has been no activity in Area 51 (also known as the CMC Internal Use Forum) since May 26. Let your imagination concoct the worst and most unlikely explanation for this inactivity.
  10. I think what FinnN has said nicely is that the burden of proof is squarely on the shoulders of the person making the claim not the person(s) doubting it. Proof in this case would be construed as a page in a book written by an authoritative source or a web site of similar quality. Hopefully said source would have solid data to support the claim or thesis and not just assert it as true. Edit: Well as I was writing this post (and watching the US men's soccer team pound China) Jeff D gave a good example of what I wrote above.
  11. Is anyone planning a tournament to commemorate the start of Barbarossa? A one-day, one-match, TCP/IP, one-battle-played-by-all, hi-score-for-each-side-wins style of tournament. Anyone got something like this planned?
  12. Could BFC release transcripts from older CMC Beta discussions to assuage our collective pain? I'm thinking something similar to what the US Gov't does with its Freedom of Information Act except not 50 years after the fact but more like 50 days or 25 days after the fact. BFC can make available non-secret stuff to satisfy our curiosity. I know something's going on because the beta forum gets posts I just hope its not of the "What I did last night" variety. BFC...feel free to post any releasable beta forum chatter right here! Just copy and paste!
  13. I have not had any crash problems but I have not purchased any of the megacampaigns. Buggy are they?
  14. I've started playing Steel Panthers: World at War again. Get the free full game here: Steel Panthers: World At War
