  1. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by MikeyD: If not books being printed, there does seem to be a lot of misinformation being regurgitated by the History Channel! Remember, the jeep won the war.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Actually the jeep maintenence people won it. Matt M.
  2. Does anyone know what I can do or where I can download some No CD patches? I know you guys frown on this, but i KNOW you would do the same if you couldn't find CM . Someone please help me! Thanks, Matt M.
  3. Bump... Also, the link you gave doesn't work because it has a period on the end. BTW, do you have Operation Flashpoint yet TeAcH? Matt M.
  4. I don't know about you guys, but if my tank/AT gun fires RIGHT after it is fired at, it seems that the accuracy goes way down. Is this real or am I imagining things? Matt M.
  5. Geez, Kingfish and securityguard! I've been on this forum almost as long as you have, and I'm treated like a n00b! (member #4281, it's those damn PENG CHALLENGES! ) That was pretty funny though, Kingfish. Matt M. De Oppresso Liber
  6. I'm a little confused on how to use special weapons, such as satchel charges, fausts, rifle grenades, etc. When in range of, say a tank, does the squad automatically use it? If so, what is the maximum distance for a charge or a rifle grenade? Thanks, Matt M. De Oppresso Liber
  7. Thx Wilhammer, that really helped me out a lot. I figured Kingfish was being sarcastic (send heavy arty on my troops that I'm trying to save?!) too. Matt M. [ 06-27-2001: Message edited by: Ezmartini ]
  8. I'm also not under ANY fire, so that could change things. So far the best thing seems to be crawling.
  9. I think that sounds like a good idea. It seems like it wouldn't be too taxing on a system, but the coding process would be more difficult. Matt M.
  10. I'm also wondering about the same thing Mr. Johnson is: Are tanks and troops less noticeable in scattered trees when in or not in foxholes? Matt M.
  11. HELP!!! My squads have stumbled across minefield that happens to be RIGHT where I sent them to go! They are hiding right in the middle of it. If I wanted to get them out with minimal casualties, what are some precautions that I can do? I don't have a engineer units nearby, so I am screwed in that category. What would be the best speed, get the hell out or walk cautiously? I would appreciate any feedback. P.S. I've already considered bending over and kissing my nards goodbye. Matt M. De Oppresso Liber
  12. 1. A yellow targeting line is incoming. Red is a outgoing. Orange-ish is Area Target 2. Flamethrowers are mostly useless unless there is no unit covering a pillboxes flanks. They are good at burning down buildings and for burning units up in night fighting. I use engineers as normal infantry, and if I'm lucky, maybe I can flank a pillbox or bunker. 3. To use HQ units useful, keep them close enough to the platoon so that there is a red command line, not a black one. (A black one means the HQ is out of command-and-control range.) Just keep them encircled by the platoon and you will do just fine. Different HQ units have different attributes, but all of them are good for corraling broken units. 4. Keep them hidden in spots that have a fast escape route and a good field of view. To fire artillery, target an area like you normally would. You can fire artillery with or without line of sight, but without takes a long time, and it's not as accurate. 5. Oops, shoulda given you the site beforehand . Good luck, Matt M. P.S. Wanna play a demo game when you get better? [ 06-26-2001: Message edited by: Ezmartini ]
  13. I gotta vote for French leader de Gaulle. What kind of leader wussies up his military when he knows the Axis are bloodthirsty for imperialism? Matt M. De Oppresso Liber
  14. Actually, before I knew it was only available online, I read a CGW review and immediately went to buy it at the local Best Buy. After noticing it wasn't there, I bought Ground Control for $15 instead. Then I DL'd the demos and wished I knew it was online-available only. So NOW I'm interested in WWII again and ordered it. 15. After having the beta and gold demos for a YEAR, I'm finally getting the full game!! Now I can't wait for it to come! Matt M. De Oppresso Liber!!
