  1. Excellent French site and does seem to be info and pic heavy. I note one of the AB41 colour pics shows some serious air-horns ..... the colonel's vehicle of course.
  2. No. Brevity being the soul of wit that should be pretty funny aswell as accurate.
  3. Interesting suggestions. I particularly agree with typing in map size which seems such elementary aspect of design. In fact most of womble's list: I prize ease of playability above most things and then realism. Glitz is way down and that includes cut scenes. However it is not daft if a designer was able to add useful links or videos and suggest it for mood enhancement : ) On the realism front the provision of correct speeds for reverse and allowing armoured cars with two drivers to actually go forwards and backwards at full speed.
  4. Tsk! what lack of faith. I am quite happy to provide all 207 topics for you to check if you feel I am not to be trusted. A simple text search of the entire threads would be simple. As it happens using individual search words "sources", "nuclear", and "israeli " there are 28 thread hits. As I am not familiar with trigger words for you but perhaps you can provide. Sources is actually agnostic but drew 18 of the hits. On the face of it therefore I would be happy to establish for your satisfaction that the majority of JK's posting has been relevant. I leave the offer on the table for you and Luke until the 30th June. Alternatively my modest claim that the majority of JK's postings here are on subject could be agreed to.
  5. I take that to mean you actually believe I am right and do not want to pay me the money. Good decision. : ) Actually I doubt I have read but a tiny fraction of what you have read from JKs outre genre and that is probably why I don't give a monkeys about it. That does not mean I am unaware of what goes on in power politics or the US's manic NSA and DHS worlds. The medias new found wonder at what GCHQ and the NSA have been engaged in s priceless and at least two years behind the times. Has no one ever wondered about the advantages of a free business like Google mapping the Earth and every house.... and accidentally recording wi-fi. Laughable. The next thing the mainstream press might latch on to is the ability to run loads of fake characters on forums to form opinions ...... : ) That talk of gay bars and cruises reminded me that in the cruise world one of the American lines dealt a mega-deal for the gay community but omitted to mention it to other cruisers who had paid up ...... sore point! Overall not a brilliant marketing wheeze given the number of complaints aired on the forums. Incidentally I am not anti-gay is that just that en masse certain groups like Mormons, strict calvinists, dieters, children, elderly impaired etc can kill some of the fun! And I apologise for going off-topic though I think the subject has know been covered adequately apart perhaps for some in-action memoirs from some super-heavy artilleryman.
  6. Well only on the CMx2 forums and on the dates I have already stated. Would you care to credit my account with BF when I complete the task? I will be most of the way to GL and FI then. And can I thank you in anticipation? Same terms for LukeFF and I am home dry!! Yippee. baneman - Gay campsites! Sound like a Kenneth Williams dream. Lots of hammering in pegs and admiring someones bowlines And any rhymes to go with Venus ....... I suspect in reality you have to have properly color coordinated equipment. : ) womble- yeh I know where Jon is really : )
  7. Neat. Venus, Florida, an unincorporated community in the United States Venus, Texas, a town in the United States, Venus, West Virginia, Venus, Romania, a resort. Just doesn't sound like your kind of area.
  8. Rob, thanks for the extra explanation. Its one of those things which is entirely obvious when you know about it but confusing to most civilians. LukeFF I am quite happy that the majority of what JK posts here is WW2 centric. If you wish to lay a decent wager, say $50 I will actually bother to count the number of lines relevant to the number off topic since January ist 2013. However my own feeling is that the thread is better off not discussing JK. We do have other oddballs including those who believe they live near Venus! WTF!? : )
  9. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23041236 I am well impressed. I love trompe l'oiel. http://www.dezeen.com/2013/06/26/dalston-house-by-leandro-erlich
  10. Very good. And your English is far superior to my French and totally understandable. If I were to make any criticism, and I am being picky, is that why people should use H2H should be up-front and make them want to watch a longish video. So that might mean starting off with: "H2H is really great and loved by the CM PBEM community as it really makes easy opening up new turns and keeping track of all your battles" It is quite long as it is thorough, and I wonder if you scripted it and the key pressing it would actually be 5 minutes shorter. Just a thought. I am impressed that you have done it and it delivered the goods. I was in on the original testing but have not used it [unfortunately] for about 12 months. So I have probably a slightly biased viewpoint : )
  11. It is a lengthy read on Google Books but I was pleasantly surprised to find something impressive about Patton, and something not so good about umpires:
  12. Wicky - Do you know I never saw that post - perhaps I am pickier on what I read! : )
  13. There are a certain few who seem to feel driving Kettler from these forums is a worthwhile endeavour. However the majority of what he adds to these forums is actually of value and very few other people research as exhaustively. You of course, as with any posters contribution here, feel that somethings should be taken with a pinch of salt.* So there you go. Enjoy the forums there is loads of info. And do not forget the search function for the archives as a lot of historic info was first discussed in the CMx1 forums. * if you are non-native English "a pinch of salt" means evaluate as to true worth/treat with caution. It helps sometimes to know where people are from so you avoid the error of believing colloquial English will be understood. JonS is incidentally nowhere near Venus but actually in New Zealand.
  14. I have passed the link to friends and they are really chuffed by it. The general opinion is that 99% of air buffs would not believe Spits could stooge over Berlin. We are wiser now.
  15. Skip-bombing http://forum.armyairforces.com/Skip-bombing-effective-m208253.aspx
  16. Reminds me of the great days of playing Battleline's Flat Top. Great game especially if you used three sets and umpires. Of course now Vassal exists. http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/2529/flat-top
  17. Good idea womble not to use the 0.50" when trying to be discreet. : )
  18. It occurs to me that the published photos may be doctored for public consumption and that is why it is hard to make sense of it. In the back of my mind I recall something about different tracers so guns could register their guns fire more easily - am I dreaming? : )
  19. Given the range of the .50" I would think there must have been plenty of opportunity to lay off in support of an attack and hose targets beyond the enemies ability to reply. Or hosing down interesting clumps of trees which were on the side of a road you were to scout down. Plus and minuses were it was lightly armoured, vulnerable to mines ...as in crew survivability, and very quiet.
  20. I would agree with BF as I have read quite a few instances of tanks not being obliging enough to appear really dead. This was quite a problem on tank heavy battlefields.
  21. Thinking ahead and organisation are wonderful things. GAJ has indeed done good for BF and the community.
  22. The final turns are always the guttiest for an attacker as the movement phase has now ended - which favours the attacker, and the final minutes is where he will take casualties. Good decision. And purely from an observers point of view it will be interesting to see how the various arms perform.
