  1. I was initially in Robs' CMC1 but have recently pulled out. I would like to make a few constructive points. 1) When running a campaign with multi-players you need to make sure that everyone involved can play on a regular basis. State that in your rules and if people don't comply chuck them out. 2) Preparation and organisation: Easy to say, but without the ground rules being laid down things can easily get confused. 3) Communication: People playing in a campaign need to be updated on a regular basis. All the best though in your future endeavours and I hope you are laerning a few things. Pucker
  2. I have found (with the new patch anyway). That you can assign a target while out of LOS and during the next move move into LOS. This is espceially useful when it takes several minutes to bring down any fire. Note: Note you need to balance having your FO ready with LOS or out of the way in cover. Basically there will be an increased delay in calling arty strikes if you have your FO hidden. Thus by the time you have him ready your target may have gone or dispersed.
  3. I have just finished my game ending up with a draw. I to feel that the germans had the advantage. Both in tanks and the ground conditions. First dis-advantage is the M10 (the only tank with a gun capable of knocking out the Panther) has a Green crew. Both the bocage and mud made it difficult to co-ordinate attacks. My Support Sherman got bogged down for three turns, which in the end robbed me my victory. Saying that, it was very enjoyable game to play.
  4. Ah, that infamous word "Luck". Mine just ran out. three shots from a M18 at a Tiger in teh open all missed. One shot from the Tiger at my M18 trying to hide desperately behind some trees and BOOM!! Seriously I have played this game alot over the past months and would back up the above posts. There are alot of factors into gun accuracy and BTS have modelled these extremely well, but there is always that element of luck to throw a spanner in the works for the un-expected. Pucker
  5. Thanks Tiger again. Superb as usual and it just so happens I am playing a number of PBEM's with some Fireflies in them. Pucker
  6. Hi, yet count me in. My aim name is EmperorKarl (sounds pompous, but I play alot of Warhammer). I live in the UK. Hi, General Petrovsky, fancy a re-match yet? Pucker
  7. Yep, me too. Played DoA mostly about a year back, but found it too expensive (UK based - so have to pay phone bill aswell). However, now fgone flat rate and unmetered phone bills I have be playing of and on for the last month. Still independent though. Pucker Up the Purps! Curse the reds!!
  8. What this probably leads to is the dropping of light tanks (accessed under armour), such as the Stuart and Lynx, which are expensive for what they can achieve. And replacing them with M8's and other A/C's. This then gives a player more points to spend on 'real tanks'. Pucker
  9. Hi Cyberfox, I am presently developing some ideas for Team games, although not necessarily by nations. Once finished i will e-mail them to you. Pucker PS. Are you interested in a PBEM?
  10. There is already a game on the market that has a turn based campaign move intergrated with real-time 3d battles. Okay it is not WWII, but feudal Japan - Shogun Total War -However, it does show it can be done and I have read they are planning further game releases. I also agree that CM does lack a campaign element. Ok the individual games and operations are fun, but they lack any greater goal or sense of achievement. That is where projects such as CMMC and CMRPG come into play and hopefully we will see alot more of these cropping up. Strictly speaking operations cater for large battles that last for 2+ hours. Okay you say it was common place for battles to last all day, but these would be broken up by periods of inactivity lasting half an hour or so, when troops on both sides would look after wounded, re-supply ammo and repair tanks. Hey presto An Operation. Pucker
  11. You almost got me falling of my chair then! Anybody seen Freddie?
  12. Hi General P, its Pucker here. - Have your GI's got headaches yet? Steel Panthers is basically a glorified boardgame, but a good one at that and is now a bit long in the tooth. As you have CM I would stick to that. Pucker
  13. Yep, I have the same problem. You are now not receiving any e-mails (even without file attachments). Adrian T.
  14. Combined arms is another key. Blind them with smoke then rush them. Pucker
  15. I had no problem at all. Paid using credit card $55 total including P&P and had to wait 7 days for delivery. Pucker
