  1. Information request Designers: Could you be so kind as to ID any scenarios that you have made that involve the 1st Panzer Division (not the 1st SS Panzer Division)? Thanks in advance. Wayne100@emirates.net.ae
  2. Question gentlemen I'm firing up my old CMBO after many years and find two versions, 1.12 and 1.24 what is the difference? I noted that the Battlefront download only has 1.12 so what is the story? Thanks
  3. Hello Magnomar I missed this when it came out. The SCW is one of my favorite periods. Please use any of my SCW period scenarios that you might need. I did most in CMBB but a few in CMAK. I have a number still in production if they are needed. Go PatBoy !
  4. On Jason C's idea That would be fabulous. Who could we get to do that? Where are the to-be-ordered-about-minions when you need them?
  5. I use a variety of source books. For the French I'm using the series by Lee Sharp. Recommended for detail freaks
  6. Hello Sequoia I tend to use the nationality whose equipment is closest to what I need. I'm afraid that in the past I haven't thought of the Modders needs. Except for a few I used in CMBO I don't use any mods at all. Take a look at SB Sino-Japanese PTO and who I had to use to make that one work! The same with the Spanish Civil War where I tended to use a mixture to get the equipment I needed and differentiate between the various types of troops, Spanish Foreign Legion, Moroccans, a half dozen different militias, Dynamitos etc etc Unfortunately geting designers to agree will be difficult I cannot even get the majority to use a standard ID for minor battles, ie PTO for Pacific, 1940 for early war POL for Poland etc. I salute your work. We'll see if the module for CM2 will be easier to work with.
  7. Well I have about 5 Norwegian scenarios in the design bucket. Main reason was the lack of armour on the Allied side (one can do a what if about the French but...) SB Encounter Norway is a favorite of mine, a random reinforcement scenario it comes out different each time you play it. Taking that bridge - and surviving can drive German players mad, or at least I gather from the emails I've received. Which side did you take against the AI A few others CMAK that I believe have non-standard victory conditions are: SB Recon North of Rome SB Bonfire 1940 SB T2 Recovery SB Limbang, Royal Marines SB Retaliation AIW SB Outpost Eerie Korea SB Denmark 1940
  8. Ah yes. well I'm slightly insane. SB Sigh Bridge 1940 and a number of other SB (Small Battles) scenario use unusual victory conditions. A few use engineers to remove obstacles/repair/build something. A few have survival of the player (as a HQ unit or tank unit) as the victory condition or taking a piece of non-flagged terrain. One had as a victory condition the taking of a French town. Along with your assault forces you had a press crew from Signal magazine along - they needed to see some action but couldn't be killed. (SB Coup de Main 1940).SB Block at El-Arish AIW has as a victory condition the survival of a corrupt Egyptian Colonel and a lowly driver - the driver being a guy I knew, from my days in the Middle East. I too grew tired of taking the flags. I've tried a wide range and variety of different victory conditions. From taking prisoners, destroying certain types of units or variations on the exit. The use of dynamic flags has also been useful. SB Blood for Oil PTO also has an unusual victory condition for the Japanese paratroopers who are trying to prevent the Dutch from blowing up the refineries at Palembang Sumatra. There are about thirty others with non-standard victory conditions, unfortunately I didn't keep a separate register of victory conditions. Junk2Drive and I worked on a number of Pacific scenarios. Hopefully at some point in the future there will be a pacific module. (for CM2 or 3)
  9. Hey Bannion My first look thru didn't find that document. I tend to discard information from completed scenarios but I believe I would have kept that as it arrived by snail mail. I didn't have google maps at that time and had to make due with a very crude sketch map. Will make another sweep of the documents tomorrow.
  10. Hey Bannon I too made a scenario out of this incident, listed as SB Hussars at Medicina located at the Depot II. Might be interesting to see how we differed in constructing it.
  11. For a real POS you need to go to the Italian M11 - that my friends is a fine piece of engineering!
  12. The T-26 is your friend! As mentioned before they were the quite the threat in the SCW. I've used them a great deal in early war and SCW. Against a Pz II it can almost/usually/sometimes come out a victor!
  13. A number of Pacific based operations and battles are over at the Scenario Depot II. Go to CMAK and search for "PTO" (Pacific Threater of Operations) that will give you most of the Pacific scenarios-plus try putting in the name of Junk2Drive who has designed some too I believe. SO Attacking Ashi-Shima PTO (Operation): Japanese attack on Wake (Wilkes) Island. SB Blood for Oil PTO Japanese airborne assault on the Dutch refineries at Palembang SO Bishenpur Burma PTO (Operation): Action during the Imphal offense. SB IJA Airborne at P-1: Japanese airborne attack on RAF/Dutch airfield near Palembang, Sumatra. SB First Victory PTO: American armour in the Philippines engages the Japanese tank force. SB First Kill PTO: American Stuarts versus Japanese tanks in December 1941. SB Burma relief PTO: British armour versus Japanese road block in 1944 SB Marubouai PTO: Japanese seige of RAF airfield. SB Charge at Tenaru PTO: US Marine tanks in action on Guadalcanal. SB Sino-Japanese PTO: Clash in 1937 between Chinese and Japanese armour in China.
  14. Thanks a lot, if you could email if you find anything as I will be off the net for a few weeks. (I'll be able to get emails however) Wayne100@emirates.net.ae It would be good to do a few of the civil war incidents, perhaps even the British vs ELAS Thanks
  15. Hey there Evzone Yes I read several histories of that time. (I use to work in Cyprus)do you know of a good English language book that covers the tactical aspects of that conflict? I could find lots of general items to include the "The Kapetanios" by Eude but no true military analysis.
  16. Best of luck Evzone. I'd certainly like to see that modded. I collected a lot of bits and pieces for some scenarios covering the Greek Civil War. A little snip from that forgotten time frame and war "On December 25, (1947) the DSE (communist insurgents) moved south out of the Grammos strongpoint and attempted to seize the town of Konitsa. Attacking with about 2,000 troops, the DSE battalions were supported by mortars, pack howitzers and at least one battery of 105 mm artillery. It became apparent that the DSE was trying to capture a capital for their new govern- ment; initial assaults were repulsed by Konitsa's 900 defenders and the Greek Army commenced supporting and reinforcing operations. The battle seesawed for several days, with the DSE unable to take the town but tenaciously holding the high ground around it. The Greek Army was now being advised by American officers, and brought superior artillery and air support to bear. The heavy fire began to take its toll on the guerrillas and on January 1, 1948, General Markos the DSE commander began to withdraw his troops.
  17. Two Greek scenarios I know of at TSDII SB Epirius covers the Initial Italian invasion. SB 845th Arab BN 1944, anti-partisan operation by the German 845th Battalion which was manned by Arabs against a Communist Guerrilla group. There may be others too
  18. I could recommend SB The Sullen Well of Taleh at the depot for a bit of desert AC conflict. For a desert night time action: SB Babbot vs Nussolini For desert fights but in a different desert, a few Arab-Israeli fights: SO Abu Agueila 1956 AIW (Operation) SB Retaliation AIW SB Block at El-Arish AIW
  19. Hey they better release that Syrian game or else, or else, or else - I'll get huffy. Already got 8 scenarios mapped out. But if they did go to WWII - I could be flexible! LOL
  20. Is this from the context of the Bizarro Universe?
  21. The Syrians I work with have taken the news of a US vs Syria war game rather indifferently. None are gamers (most are Islamic and Arabic teachers) and fairly conservative. A few worried that the game might be part of a plot by the 'hidden hand' that affects all ME thinking. A few viewed it cynically as a way to make money out of a difficult present/future situation. A few looked at it as part of the conspiracy against Syria and the concept of Greater Syria and Pan Arabism. They thought such a development would be backed by the US government as part of its plans to destablize Suriyah. But mainly indifference/non comprehension. War gaming isn't well developed in Syria. I suspect their sons might be better to ask. If BFC wants to generate an official response to the game I do have a connection to the local Syrian Embassy. However that individual is an Alawite and probably wouldn't like the idea at all.
  22. I'd like to see it yes! How do you get the interlocking MGs not to dominate and pin the attacking force? Send when you email is functioning again.

  24. I did a preliminary study and found that using the existing pillboxes in Cmak didn't provide a fun or even remotely accurate portrait of the battle. I did find out about the Belgian moveable anti-tank wall - which I found most amusing.
