  1. I like to play music from some of the war movie classics. For example, after a big victory I'll play the theme to "Patton" or the march from "The Longes Day." Another cool song to play when tanks are slugging it out is "In the Belly of the Steel Beast" by John Williams. It's from the Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade sound track and it rocks. Just my two cents if anyone is interested. ------------------ "Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves; and, under a just God, can not long retain it." --A. Lincoln

  3. I'll be willing to PBEM with anyone who is interested. Just got the game 2 days ago and can't stop playing . I've never done PBEM in any wargame so if you want an easy win just drop me an email at fightingjoe@uswest.net . ------------------ "Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves; and, under a just God, can not long retain it." --A. 4. You should treat your prisoners the same way you want your troops to be treated if they were taken captive. I'm not going to call you cruel or evil, but imagine your guys getting lined up and mowed down by a firing squad. I know it's just a game. However, it is a game that portrays combat more accurately than any other strategy or war game ever made. Some people may find your actions disturbing....but just remember that if we are in a PBEM and I see you mowing down my men that were taken captive. I will do the same to my prisoners. ------------------ "Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves; and, under a just God, can not long retain it." --A. Lincoln
  5. I, like you, just discovered Combat Mission recently. I had the day off and all my other friends were working. I was sick of constantly clicking on monsters in Diablo II and was bored. So I was searching Gamespot.....noticed the review, downloaded the demo, and that is all she wrote!!! I ordered the game a week ago (still not here yet and I'm getting a little concerned) but I'm still loosing sleep just by playing the demo. Games of this quality and detail are far and few between. This game is special and will hopefully win several wargame of the year awards. I truly believe that it deserves that honor. ------------------ "Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves; and, under a just God, can not long retain it." --A. Lincoln
  6. DigDug, I ordered my copy last Friday 7/14 and have still not received it. I guess it really depends on where you live and on what day you ordered. I know the game ships from the NE US and I'm in the extreme Southwest US, so it may take a little longer for it to arrive. But I'm still waiting patiently and am sure the game will be well worth the wait. Download the demo.........it's awesome and you will not be disappointed. ------------------ "Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves; and, under a just God, can not long retain it." --A. 8. This is my first post to this forum since I only discovered Combat Mission last week. I downloaded the demo and I'm hooked. I have to be at work in six hours and should be asleep right now, but I just had to play VOT one more time before I entered the world of dreams. I'm addicted. I ordered the game last Friday and I'm waiting patiently for my copy to arrive. Anywaym, I better get to the subject. As most of you probably already know, a few major online computer game magazines have reviewed CM (e.g. Gamespot, Gamecenter , CGO, etc.). But there is one major online game magazine that seems to be missing, and that is Dailyradar (I think they are owned by the same company that publishes PC Gamer). Now I was wondering to myself why PC Gamer never reviewed CM. I pondered "Why have they not reviewed the greatest wargame, in my opinion, since Panzer General?" So I decided to do a search of Dailyradar's site for any articles about Combat Mission that I may have missed and found this nice little commentary by one of their editors.... http://www.dailyradar.com/columns/game_column_291.html. Hopefully most of you have seen this, but if not.........well you have now. Sorry I went on and on, but like I said this is my first post and I wanted to seem approachable.
