  1. Hmmm...I played as Finns and got 2 platoons pretty hosed up. I won but barely...
  2. Ya'll will like the "Lake Ladoga" scenario. I could only imagine what the Finns were saying to the Soviets not being Finnish myself.
  3. I played and liked it. Played the defenders....*shakes head* close one..
  4. You wanna play the Finns? Try Lake Ladoga....you'll love it (as the Finns).... not gonna say no more other than "Those crazy Finns!" *shakes head*
  5. Borisovka Station: Spoiler* * * * * * * * * * * Me being a lousy handler of infantry in the attack, I took the Germans and crossed my fingers. I about had to change my depends when the rocket barrage hit, luck enough it only lasted 1 turn! Kinda tense as the AT guns got picked off 1 by 1... then the last 2 T-34s and lone SU-122 hit the left edge of town with a few infantry....I tried maneuvering 2 infantry squads from the a building to the tobbacco factory, which they did but the SU-122 pasted one and it routed (to return later). The squad that stayed back assulted and took out one T-34 while the last 1 was KO'd by a strafing plane. Good scenario! BTW Unt Faustle is the squad leader of the squad that took out the T-34. They did that while under AI control. not mine... Unfortunately Unt Faustele didn't survive his wounds from the assult... [ September 29, 2002, 11:52 PM: Message edited by: pathfinder ]
  6. Hornet's Nest: Spoilers?* * * * * * * * * * * * Shoot and scoot is a definite must as I lost all but one doing hunt/hull down. That one (elite rated, officer?) ended up out of ammo. The German infantry was hardly touched due to the 75 mm gun on the far right and the mgs on the hill next to the Nashorn's ridge.... Had me wondering what I was doing wrong but on thinking..shoot and scoot a definite better tactic for their relative thin skins, thought they did exact a terrible price on the Red vehicles.. 7. Omlets or scrambled eggs... Green eggs and ham.... *Spoiler?* * * * * * * * * * * * * Rune did a excellent job with this one IMHO... on edge as the Germans....desparately try to position the Stugs to handle the SU-152's in the far left corner, 1st one immobilized kills a coupla SU-152 then boom...dies... maneuver another over to engage, he manages to survive to handle the infantry assult, the 3d does too but falls victim to a plane strafing... Maneuver the Tigers up to help with the SU-152s coming high diddle diddle and they do...until those blasted planes show lost 3 to them... The lone mortar FO and few infantry manage to hold off the Soviet infantry until game's end... Note: The Soviet infantry didn't fully break after they got hammered by the mortar fire coupled with the Tigers and an 88...they just kept coming and coming and coming.... scary...especially at level 1 with one of the Jager platoon leaders (near the church) [ September 29, 2002, 12:13 PM: Message edited by: pathfinder ]
  8. (*&^%%# *Spoiler* * * * * * * * * * * * * * Dear Mr. Berlichtigen (sp?): You sir are EVIL! Tried 2 times and best I get is tactical victory... 1st try I get two damaged Mark IVs out and Pieper's Kubelwagen.... bleah No matter what I try I can't get those Panthers out... they get "fixed" at their start point by the hordes of T-34s. Ugh, gonna keep trying until I get at least a coupla Panthers out... Hehe, wonder how well some of the better players have/will handle this one Very well done scenario! Every time I appear to get the T-34s "handled and start to fall back...boom
  9. Played both Deathride of the 424 and A warm place to sleep. beautiful scenary fer sure ....
  10. I haave to second this. Just finished a scenario I set up, meeting engagement in July 1941 on a quick map.4-5 light tanks (T-26/b-7; Pz II/Pz-30 (the Czech one) ...companiy of RA infantry, 2 platoons of German regular infantry.. 1 German AC, 2 RA AC..... 1 Mortar FO each. Anyways, a nail biter as the Germans took casualties, etc. The sounds are marvelous, especially when the firefights broke out...machine guns blazing, cannon firing, mortars going off, the cries of the wounded... me with 1 infantry platoon leader most of the time..at ground level....indescribable Ya'll done good!
  11. Yeah, that muther is HUGE! Takes 2-3 minutes to load and what a BOOM! 330 (?) mm ain't nutin' ta sneeze at. Rare or not, fun to watch..until it bogs or breaks down Hehe, shock wave from one round from one in a scenario I made up sent a King Tiger to cautious status....just a wee bit too close for comfort [ September 26, 2002, 06:53 AM: Message edited by: pathfinder ]
  12. Oh and Berli: ****SPOILER****** * * * * * * Enterwald (?) Last Stand: That be one muther of a scenario...just about needed to change mah depends when that one opened up! (me was Germans) I managed to hang on for "only" a minor defeat
  13. SPOILER****** * * * * * * * * * * * * * *Don't know about fun but "Hill 312", a prelude to Stalingrad, is tough one. No armor, just pure blood 'n guts infantry....Red Army handed me my overconfident arse...
  14. Oy....Red Army Infantry just handed me mah arse trying to take a certain hill somewhere.... Good Job!
