  1. I liked the two 90mm recoilless rifles I had in my combat engineer platoon. They made more noise at the firing line than at the receiving end. You could get a nosebeleed just being nearby when they fired. "Backblast Area Clear!" was no joke. But that was back in the '80s and we never got to use them against real targets. Anyone here have any operational experience with the US 90mm RR?

  3. Thanks Mystro, I think that driver/Catalyst version is still available on the ATI web site. I'll give it a try tonight. Spiny
  4. Hi PrezCartman, I'm running a Radeaon X800GT 128 MB on an XP SP2 Intel 3.6 GHz machine and I can't get the program to work. It starts, I get to a black screen with a green mouse pointer, and then the monitor shuts off and I need to reboot the computer. So, what settings are you running for your card? I thought my card was too old to work, but now you're the second person with an ATI X800 type card to say it works fine for them. Thanks. Spiny
  5. Hi Mystro, Like Rune said, what settings and drivers are you using? I have a three year old Radeon ATI X800GT card. I downloaded and installed the 7.7 Catalyst driver. XP SP2. The game tries to start, I get a green mouse pointer, and then my monitor shuts off and I need to manually reboot my computer. I'm planning to replace the video card, but I'd like to at least see the game now even if I get poor performance from my old card. So, what settings are you using? Spiny
  6. lighten up I was only having a bit of fun, obviously BF will release when it suits them regardless of our pleading, and rightly so. I bet you don't shake the presents under the tree at christmas do you And I was having a little fun myself, enjoying the fracas by being the voice of calm reason among all the more excitable types. I do it to drive my wife nuts too, including with the presents.
  7. well fingers crossed it wasn't just swedish momma's and pappa's and I can download soon </font>
  8. We had a MICLIC one time that severed it's attaching cable and just ended up in one big heap downrange. Of course, that meant that the detonating circuit was also severed. Very inconvenient. Not wanting to send someone out there where he might get hurt, we detonated it by firing a .50 cal with tracers into it from a CEV. It took quite a few hits and it was burning merrily before the magic bullet finally did the trick and detonated it. We were in Iraq, but fortunately it was a training situation, not an actual breach attempt.
  9. I have pictures of MICLICs going off running through my head. Now that would be exciting. Unfortunately, a MICLIC is so big, given its 2,000 lb C4 charge, that it might overwhelm the map. But, gosh it would be fun.
  10. Here's another low member number, lurking in the underbrush, waiting for morsels of information.
  11. "Post a location in your profile." "Don't use smilies." You guys are fond of your rules. I suppose it's important to find something in life to give you a sense of stability and meaning when you run into presumptuous SSNs. In a way I am disappointed. I figured that given the moose angle, you guys would have been able to come up with tons of good abuse. I mean, wasn't that a low hanging fruit, over ripe for you to pick and throw at the unsuspecting SSN? Or perhaps you guys have been falling asleep counting sheep so long that your imaginations can't contain the thought of a better animal. Or, instead of jumping on the Noob with the hokey moose song, you could post another song to top it. Now that would mean something. Spiny recklessly continues to post smilies, heedless of the consequences.
  12. I suppose I am a Noob on the Peng threads. But, I've chuckled over them as a lurker long enough to know what to expect if I ever posted to one. And you guys haven't let me down. I just can't help but notice that, even though you were supposed to ignore me, you chose to have a little fun responding to me anyway.
  13. Ah, yes. The Granite State. Old New Hampshire. The song brings tears of joy and pride to my eyes. Thanks, Nidan. Bored? I'm sorry to hear that.
  14. Sigh... I bring you guys a cool song about moose and what I get in return is abuse. How about posting some more songs instead? I'm sure there are plenty out there.
  15. You mentioned another Heroic National Guardsman? Where? Is he a SSN? Wait, an Officer is he? Too bad, I thought the class of folks in this joint was improving for a second, guess not. [/QB]
