That's the more realistic (from an amount of design work required) option every WW2 CM fan is waiting for since… how many years?

"I" am waiting for:
1. the announcement of WHAT will be the CMFI battle pack previously mentioned. Crickets on that.
2. Information on when we might see the CMFB module that ends the war and brings in  the Commonwealth. Will it have the Pershing? Inquiring minds want to know.
3. Engine 5 development status.

I think/guess Finland only came up as a "discussion purposes only" example of how they can't invest to do Barbarossa. I just went into conjecture & hypothesis mode about what it would be like.

Steve could just say that they will do a cmx2 Kursk title and end all the worry that WW2 has been ditched until CMX3 Normandie starts the whole cycle over.

We are not asking that BFC's TOE attention to detail would be lowered. This was part of a one-sided beg and argue with BFC to try and get then to produce some dang version of an early war module. A vehicle pack. We have asked for JUST a vehicle pack and we'd do the TOE stuff on our own. Then we are told how that is too much time/cost/lost opportunity to do the 3D modelling and for Charles to code in each bogey wheel's movement in the z dimension/etc.

I speak for myself only. I respect that aspect of BFC with getting the nitty gritty of TOEs correct by date and such. I do.
But my play style came from once having a low end PC and still having a low end brain and I better enjoy the type of small scenario where the unit has been ravaged and the TOE is no longer intact. So, in the editor you have an HQ and purchase the teams tucked under there and you get your red lines. Like an adhoc force. Not a day 1 of the invasion TOE.
I think there should be room for both types of approaches.

All we really need is a Vehicle Pack like the one for CMBN.  We can take it from there...

Yeah, I would pay a lot to have ost front 41-43 added.  And of course N Africa 40-42.  But sounds like the more modern stuff is what sells best.  I was shocked when I heard this, I thought "who doesn't love ww2 best?".  Turns out lots of people.

Familiarity breeds contempt and it's just naturally easier for humans to notice flaws instead of positive things. Some of the critics are a little silly but I think most people critique because they're passionate about the games and just want them to become better, but it's good to show some positivity sometimes too.

To put your mind at ease....YES ! they have.
If they did not like the game why then would they ask for more.

I would buy early War, I would buy mid-War, I would buy WWI back to the last Ice Age - I will buy anything you release, because I love the way the game works.
I sometimes wonder if the frequent critics, who focus on what isn't there, have ever played the game, and noticed how much it does include - I've been so engaged with the units and maps added in the recent updates to CMFI and CMRT that I've barely looked at CMCW, despite it being such an interesting period.

The info was collated from multiple sources and the detail regarding the Soviet side was all the research of a chap called Marchenko - so my thanks to him for the detailed work (though I see his links to his research are now broken unfortunately).
I'm pleased you enjoyed and found it useful. I have a bug bear about youtube 'history' and some of the downright incorrect stuff that is posted. Good to know this might in some small way counteract the twaddle.

1) Going to have to use those tanks in not the best of conditions.

Generally, if one has to move thru enemy occupied forests, one has to take time moving thru.  PAUSE for a minute or two and locate sound contacts, then AREA FIRE at em.
