  1. I have been thinking re the top quality mods produced for CMN which I would love to see extended to CW. Apart from Juju and Aris the other quality mod I would love to see for CW is Ramblers weapon skins. They were of exceptional quality. Thanks
  2. Thanks Peyton ---good to have an icon variation and a more authentic colour for CW units----------cheers
  3. Looking absolutely fantastic -a real work of art----many thanks Juju---please keep taking the "stay awake"pills and please do give up your day job. I would also request that. for the time being. no-one else writes him any emails to distract him at all...........
  4. Darknight Canuck--Thank you for your constructive response and I can fully appreciate the time consuming nature (to say nothing re motivation and skill levels) involved in such work. But if you do find the time I (and Im sure many others too with an historical interest in these units) would greatly appreciate a mod which would facilitate the identification of other significant British infantry divisions like the 43 Wessex within the game. My gratitude again for your interest and thanks for anything you feel you can implement in the future. Cheers
  5. Currently the stock British infantry has the 49th West Riding Infantry Div shoulder patches (PolarBear). May I enquire whether any modders intend producing any alternative divisional shoulder patches for the British infantry. Mord has produced a comprehensive range of portraits depicting all the divs involved------but currently it does not make any visual sense to use any div. inf. portrait except the 49th Inf one which is already. displayed on all the shoulder patches. I have no ill-feelings re the 49th Div but would like some alternative choices like for example 43 Wessex Div (which contained the Duke of Cornwalls Light Infantry-------of Hill 112 ("Cornwall Hill") fame. Any chance of this or any other "slightly less famous ones" " pcelt" --surprise surprise --from Cornwall.......
  6. Re Sergeants in British units--I think that the rank of sergeant was usually applied to Platoon second-in-commands and sections were usually led by corporals. Juju--your agreement to rejoin the UI development service is the best military news I have had since the the news of Victory in Europe in 1945--and Im afraid I do actually remember that...........
  7. Any chance at some point down the road of this brilliant mod being converted for the Brits/CW interface as well. The original made a huge difference to the original interface. Thanks in hope...... ----And of course obviously the great armour mods by Aris for the Brit/CW armour. Thanks in yet more hope....
  8. Sergei No-- sorry --I hadnt realised we all had to pass a memory test before the game would be delivered. Now I understand --thanks.
  9. Please ,BF. I really dont want to become totally bored with the Commonwealth Manual before the game appears.... Please show some mercy.
  10. Similar many congratulations---though I do understand from impeccable sources that the award could well be withdrawn if the Commonwealth add-on does not appear within 3 days.........
  11. LJF--BRILL Indeed multiferous thanks for all your work--- as a frequent QB user ,loved playing your earlier set and looking forward to exploring this enhanced and expanded set. Cheers
  12. Evo6tme--if you are feeling a bit overwhelmed with difficulty levels i suggest you play a few Quick Battles v AI. You can select the type of battle, and choose a small size and map. Selelect your units and let the computer select and play the enemy. Initially you can allocate a percentage less to the comp or more to you and so you will have certain advantages. As you learn the tactics and become more skilful you can even up the choice more and then when more comfortable play some of the specific battles listed which are more of a challenge than the Quick Battles. Experiment with the Quick battle section....
  13. Sergei---- I think Commonwealth forces fielded a universal carrier witn a flame thrower which was named "Wasp"
  14. G Smiley ---I am simply observing that the current trend is very much toward H2H offerings and i am just pleading that, although I accept that these are much less difficult and time-consuming for their creators than AI battles, the latter will still receive some attention and not become a dying feature . Both forms are equally significant and both need a continuing stream of new and fresh experiences. I am not pleading for one or the other but for some sort of balance of offerings for both in the future. Cheers
  15. Nearly all recent offerings have been focussed on H2H situations. I just want to request that designers do not totally ignore those of us who ony play v AI in scenarios and ln Quick battles Thanks
  16. I was just indicating that a QB like this with many alternative AIs programmed in would lead to different experiences and challenges each time you played that QB map.
  17. Nik---Many thanks for this---grateful for all additional QB maps with varied AIs.
  18. In setting up a QB in which German purchasing category would I find the Sdkfz 234 heavy armoured car. Am not sure where it is listed for purchase. Many thanks
  19. I agree with Normal Dudes comments (Page 1) The sample sizes are so variable and there are so many variables related to the samples which are totally uncontrolled that no reliable inferences can really be drawn. The old adage about statistical evidence applies---"Crap in=crap out." (or words to that effect)
  20. Green As Jade-- I fear your snap judgments about people are as flawed and limited as your approach to QBs. I have played CM games since 1999 and have experienced all of the approaches to QBs over this period . Sure there were "speed of setting up" advantages in the early computer- generated "maps" but these battles was no match with CMBN in terms of terrain realism, the current computer opponent AI plans or overall battle quality and variety of tactics. If when setting up a 30-45 minute QB you find yourself unable to spend 2 or 3 minutes selecting AND previewing an appriopriate map on which to to fight I feel sorry for you--If speed is all that matters to you in your life take up motor racing... With apologies --- but your snap judgment and dismissal of someone elses view really irritated me....
  21. I cannot support this generalised heavy criticism of QBs. Sure there are ways in which they might be improved --but if you you take responsibility for choosing and previewing the map you want for the battle -type you are selecting then most of the current antagonism and criticism ceases to be relevant. We would certainly appreciate a wider and more extensive map availabily but this is slowly happening ( I especially would commend the set of 25 extra QB maps added by LJF.) and would hopefully request further additions to the QB listings. I focus very much on QBs and especially on smaller encounters and using my own map choice and preview, I have enjoyed many excellent and varied battles and experienced a good variety of different tactical plans from the enemy force. NB I have also never experienced the "side -reversal " issue referred to by GAJ.
