  1. Might it be that they will only fire PIATS at buildings occupied by the enemy--and in my test I was targetting an empty building??
  2. Is there any way you can order a piat team to use the piat against a building--the team always use rifles only when given a building as target. I had thought that the piat was a useful weapon to blow a hole in a building if required. Thanks
  3. What factors determine whether you get a "Blue folder photo" or a "Red folder photo " when you are a) Previewing maps Loading a new game or saved game Does it relate to the attacker/defender sitn or the Human/AI sitn or is choice of blue or red background photo totally random in every sitn . Secondly within each group of red and blue photographs are the computer choices made in "Photo number" sequence or made randomly from all the available in that group type. Not the most exciting of topics but I am currently a little puzzled and intrigued by this and would appreciate any authoritative explanation-------Many thanks.
  4. Juju--there are no adequate superlatives left to describe your quality and commitment. If you were British I'd organise a knighthood .........or a strippergram.......or both.....(though not necessarily at Buckingham Palace)
  5. Dave T-------The besa MG (like the main gun) shows up when the tank fires it---try some "target light" fire . Its certainly there. But unlike all the other weapons it still appears in its vanilla form (green)---I dont know whether Juju will later be "fixing" this very minor blip in this major work of art. The link referred to above (Fizou) relates to the arty and air support buttons and not to this question
  6. I think I have noticed some previous ref. to this----I have found in the Churchill VII that the besa MGs when they are fired and shown in the weapon display are both vanilla green Not sure how many other besas appear in British tanks. Also similar with Churchill IV and Cromwell IV--------------------- Cheers
  7. Juju---Thank you very much for checking. I remain puzzled as the only 2 modifications I installed after the 1.1 and your "missing support access buttons" fix were the "coloured commmand buttons- subdued" and the "HQ Allies- British" But no real problem- I am happy to go with the overwritten command and control ikons. It may forever remain one of those many computer mysteries. I term my internet setup as a "house of ill-compute" at the best of times. Thanks again for an exceptional piece of work.
  8. Great work Juju---but I have 1 issue---- Default Command and Control icons have the overwritten words like the optional choice---no version free of words. Cheers
  9. Great work Juju--but I have one issue---the default command and control ikons have the overwritten words like the additional option ---no version without the words. Cheers
  10. But what have they done with all their different styles of helmet---real mystery......
  11. Looking at the current mods list I am getting the distinct impression that the battles between the SS units and CW units in Normandy were basically fought between soldiers with an enormous range of helmets and no other uniform........scary picture....
  12. Pleased to get these--but am getting a mix of U.S. and CW backgrounds---do we need to remove any earlier Z mods like"Force-Specific Background Red" and ".......Blue "which were mods which expanded the vanilla backgrounds sets. Or is the intention to produce a mix oif all Allied backgrounds. Thanks for any clarification
  13. dpabrams ----Thanks for the correction to the Cromwell IV white identification number in V1.1
  14. I agree re the units --but werent the Inns of Court Armoured Car regiment, though a Corps unit, in fact, at least attached to the 11th Armoured Div (as other AC Regiments were attached to other Armoured Divs) during this period. I am not at all sure though, whether they ever wore the 11th Div Bull....
  15. Many thanks again for this fine collection-- very good. ---one very minor observation ---the small stamped white numbers are fine on both sides of all the models except the Cromwell IV but on this tank, one side has mirrored numbers. No great issue-but if the solution is easy it may be worth correcting. Thanks again for all the work.
  16. Many thanks for those -Good work--look forward to the Cromwell IV and the Achilles. Cheers
  17. Got to be the British- used Shermans including Fireflies --then the Cromwells and then the Churchills. Id settle for that ----then on Wednesday....................................... Seriously - whatever models appeal to you to do ----shock and awe re your choices can be exciting and part of the pleasure.
  18. Excellent piece of work --must quickly ask--no sign of Spitfire or Typhoon silhouettes . Presume these Brit. air support planes are in final piece de resistance?.....
  19. For anyone who is interested in all these morkings and designations and everything else you might want to know about the mystical British army ,organization, equipment , infantry ,weapons, tanks, vehicles etc in the period DDay--VEDay everything fully llustrated in colour, I would strongly recommend "The British Soldier-From D Day to VE Day" Vol 2 Organization, Armament,Tanks and Vehicles - by Jean Boucherie. Then you probably wont need to keep anything in a bottle like JonS--apart of course from your alcohol. NB Have just checked it out on Amazon UK and I must say the price has risen appreciably since I bought it for £19 about 10 years ago-----but it is a first rate reference on this topic.
  20. Re my last comment---realise I referred to Operation Epsom when I intended to write Operation Goodwood.
  21. Brilliant as usual Aris---Losing Staghound in battle as we speak----seems no match for the Tiger 2--if you do any further Staghound marks could you upgrade the main gun to a 17pounder? Cant understand why Churchill didnt suggest this to his engineers at the time.
  22. dpabrams---very much appreciate all you are doing and all the armoured div. variants and div markings etc you are providing. But if you are providing a choice which is valuable for identification and immersiveness I would request, if you have the time and energy, that you do not to totally ignore Guards Armoured Div which was very much involved in Operation Epsom and in Bluecoat in July/August in Normandy. Thanks a lot.
  23. Thanks Rambler --pleased to have version- choice--not over impressed with the convalescent sore throat disguise......bad for morale....
  24. Re Units--------Not to mention the Guards Armoured of course......Have you got a few spare months?? Cheers Rough Guide 7th Armoured used mainly Cromwells 11th Armoured used mainly Shermans except for Northampton Yeomanry with Cromwells Guards Armoured used mainly Shermans except for Welsh Guards with Cromwells All( including Cromwells) with a small proportion of Sherman Fireflies (initially 1 per troop) Challengers did not begin appearing until late August Independent Tank Brigades used either Shermans or Churchills
